A person born to parents unmarried to each other.

Bastard #23 is her identity.

In this world, being ranked Bastard can only mean two things: One, your parents violated the Relationships Law which states no before marriage. Or two, your mother works at the Relaxation Center, also know as the house.

Bastard children are unwanted and detested by the society, most of them are killed before birth. If not, the Bastard infants are abandoned at the Orphanage and raised as slaves.

Male Bastards are usually sent to factories to do hard labour while females become housemaids, servants, or cleaners.

But for rare, beautiful cases like #23, they are trained specially to serve a purpose. After they mature, many would pay a great price to purchase those beauties.
