Eunhyuk finds an abandoned phone on the train. He leaves his contact details and hands it in, leaving that connection forgotten at the back of his mind. Little did he realise that the thin thread which held them together by the barest of fibres would be the start to a relationship which would match no other.

The first picture of you in my mind was vague. It was a quick flick of the finger over smooth glass; still warm from the hand that had left it. I may have liked what I saw, ignored your smiling face or lost you in the midst of tiny faces forming a mosaic to hide you from my sight. You were a blur in my mind. I didn't perceive, couldn't guess how much you would dominate my life, my mind, my everything in the years to come.

I gave you clues. A name, a number, a face, a greeting. The railway officer smiled to see them. There were no promises, but I knew that she had succeeded when I received your first hello. I still remember your first words, giving personality to the mix of colours I had recognised you to be. I eventually found the time and motivation to reply the next day as I lay upside down on my bed with my feet resting on the wall and my phone on my chest.

Hi Donghae. I had paused and stared at the message for a second longer before typing again. I'm glad you found your phone.

Your reply came a few seconds later as though you had been interrupted while on your phone. That, or you were awaiting my response.

oh you replied! id started to think that you wouldnt. it would be a pity if you hadnt because i noticed your uniform in the picture you left on my phone. it seemed as though we were quite close in terms of age and i figured that maybe we could be friends

Friends. That was my record time in making a new friend. Six sentences and a bond which would run deeper than blood. I liked the sound of that; a friend gained so easily. Of course, I had previously realised that you too, were a high schooler. Your phone had been full of roughly taken selfies by various boys, probably your classmates, all in uniform, and your background had been your subject timetable. I tapped away once more.
