Foreword
It all started with a kiss, really, no matter how cringe-worthy and cliched as it sounds.
At least it wasn't a girl that tasted like cherry chapstick, Jinae thinks to herself with a roll of her eyes.
Rather, it was a boy that tasted like peppermint chapstick, who tattoed into the back of her eyelids the shape of his bow lips. Who improsoned her within memories of shy, yet flirty fingers. Who hooked her onto the thrill of whisking away her good-girl image like a magician's cloak.
But alas, the glittery intoxication of summer's pixie dust only lasted for forty days, and those days were long gone.
Jinae sighs as she reluctantly slips on her new mittens and opens the door. She is greeted by a cold sheet of rain in her face.
