Author’s POV~

Early in the morning was filled of ruckus and chattering sounds made by the students of Chungdamn HS. They were

gossiping about the new girl that would be arriving today.

“Yah, did you hear? She’s Japanese!” A long and wavy haired girl whispered. “What? Are you kidding me?!” Her

friend screamed in her high-pitch voice that made everyone in the hallway stared at her. She scratched her head

embarrassedly.

‘Ahh~ What’s this all about?’ You thought but you just brushed off the thought and yawned from your lack of

sleep. You headed straight to your classroom and settled in your seat. You rested your head on top of the desk until

Ah Young greeted you, “Hello Hello~ Morning, ~~~~~~!” You groggily shifted your eyes towards the morning

person  in front of you, feeling annoyed for the fact that you was disturbed from your nap.

“What is it?” You lazily answered. Ah Young frowned, “Aigoo! Wake up, sleepy head! Didn’t you hear?!” Ah Young’s

face suddenly turned into a panicky face. “What?” You buried your face into your arms on the desk.

“There’s a new girl coming here! I mean…transferring here!” She corrected. You turned your head and fixed your

eyes on Ah Young’s, “Yeah? And who is this girl?” “Her name is…! Uh…” Ah Young put her finger on her lips, trying to

recall her memories. “Yeah?” You encouraged her to continue.

“Uh…um…” A drop of sweat suddenly fell from her forehead when all of a sudden a classmate came in and announced,

“The girl’s name is LEE SUNG RIN!” “AHA! That’s it! Her name is LEE SUNG RIN!” Ah Young brightened up.

“Ah Young…I already heard it from that girl. You just heard it from her too.” You shook your head and sighed

because of Ah Young’s silliness. “Well, don’t blame me.” Ah Young frowned and continued, “Oh and…” Ah Young was

cut off by the snickering boys that came into their classroom. It was Jae Jin and his friends.

They took their seat and continued laughing. One of his friends cackled, “Hey, did ya see her? She was like WOW!

Jae Jin, don’t you want to hit on her?” Jae Jin looked at his friend and shook his head, “Nah. Not interested.”

‘Phew...’ You heaved a relieve sigh. When you realized what was you doing, you widened your eyes, ‘Did I just sigh a

relieve sigh?! Why would I do that?! I mean…why am I worried about him hitting on girls?! I must be crazy!’ You 

knocked your head. Ah Young shot you a look, “What’s with you?” You looked at Ah Young, “Huh? Oh! No! Not at

all!”

The teacher came and everyone settled into their own seats. Mr. Lee stood at the main table, “Alright! As you can

see…we have a new student today.” The students nodded in excitement especially the boys. The girls just had their

relaxed expression on. Mr. Lee clapped his hand and gestured the student to come in, “You can come in now.”

A girl with a wavy brown hair came in. The boys whistled in excitement while the girls gave her a deadly glare. She

bowed her head and introduced herself, “I’m Lee Sung Rin but just call me Yuri. I prefer that name. And as you can

see, I’m from Japan. My parents handle business there so that’s all.” She arrogantly clapped her hands one time.

A few seconds later, whispers and chatters can be heard by the whole students in the class. The girls exchanged

looks and glared at her while the boys checked her out and whistled. Well, for you.., you seems like a normal

person – sleeping.

Mr. Lee awkwardly spoke up trying to break the glaring competition, “Ahem, so Mrs. Lee, you can go sit there.” He

pointed to the seat next to Jae Jin. Yuri bowed again and went to her new seat. As she put down her bag, Jae Jin

greeted her, “Hi! Welcome to our class!” Yuri gave him a small smile and took out the textbooks.

Jae Jin smiled while you caught a glimpse of him smiling like that. You thought to yourself, ‘Weird? He can smile

like that too?’ Brushing the thoughts away, you continued to take a nap since it was ‘Self-Study Time’.

“LEE SUNG RIN, huh?”
