Xie Xie wants to become a chef to make her father in heaven proud, but her unbalanced emotions and shy personality prove to be quite a road block. When she finally does get accepted on her twentieth birthday, she thinks it’s a miracle. But it turns out a long time ago, her father made a bet with an old and powerful friend, if Xie Xie could overcome the emotional side of her and become a good chef, then she would be his successor since he has no family, but if she failed, she would work there for the rest of her life or until the place goes out of business (whichever comes first) without pay. Though it seems like a fair bet, Xie Xie finds herself working for a small time restaurant which is the start of a new chain and even though it’s not doing well, and to pay back her debt, and prove herself, she begins to work hard. Yet in the workplace, she finds herself struggling more emotionally than she ever did before…falling in love with the cold Jin Hai, crossing paths with old and new enemies, being thrown into the dirt and kicked around by some of the customers…and worse of all, coming face to face with Jin Hai’s ex girlfriend who is struggling with her retarded older sister and parents with all timers. Life proves to be hard, but still, what we may see over time is not old and weak Xie Xie, but a girl who begins to prove anything is possible.
