She looks familiar. I think I recognise her.

Yeah, that little girl’s me.

But I’m different, or should I say, she’s different. She’s smiling. She’s happy. She’s clinging on the neck of her, um, my father, but more than that, her hand is being held by a woman; a woman whose eyes and skin matched her own.

Mother…

And suddenly everything hurts.
