Smiling to himself, he quietly thought of ways on how to catch Jongin's attention. He stares dreamily at Jongin as he stretches his arms, yawning. He must be tired, Baekhyun thinks. This suddenly gives him an idea. He stands up from his seat and walks toward Jongin. The boy, oblivious as he always was, now proceeds to doing whatever it is he is doing. Baekhyun thinks it's probably homework. Homework is not the only thing that can make the other boy not notice him. There are many other things--most other things, actually. But of course, Byun Baekhyun is Byun Baekhyun. Thus, he begs to disagree to that.

"Maybe he's just acting like he doesn't notice how pretty I am" he would always tell himself.

There is a really tiny part of his heart that knows that isn't true. That tiny part says, "No. Actually he doesn't even see you." It's just a tiny part of him. But whenever it hits him, it hits him hard and it hurts. There definitely were nights when he cries himself to sleep and his eyes would be so swollen he would wear one of his Gucci sunglasses to school. It's a really good thing that majority of Baekhyun makes him think otherwise. This makes him confident each day. This makes him who he is. This makes him an able person who can walk towards his beloved like he does right now. 

He slightly slams his pretty hands onto the table Jongin is using. The latter abruptly looks up from his (Baekhyun is right) homework, shock is visible on his cute face. This only makes Baekhyun's heart go crazy and bonkers and he thinks he might die right there and then. Jongin is staring right into his own eyes and a lump is probably starting to form in his throat which he instinctively swallows. 

"Hi Jongin," he says. The said boy blinks and greets him back nonetheless. He then goes back to doing his homework and Baekhyun silently scowls. He suppresses the urge to just hug Jongin and asks him, "You seem tired. Need help?" Jongin shakes his head. "No, it's fine. I'm fine." Baekhyun internally groans. He sits down beside Jongin and pretends to look at whatever is making him busy as if he's cursing it. Looking back at the other boy, he thinks he might faint just by the sight of him chewing on his lower lip as he ponders for something. Without permission, he clings his arms onto Jongin's right arm and rests his chin on his shoulder.

Jongin looks back at him in question. Baekhyun just stares back into his eyes with a pout starting to form on his lips. 

"What is it?" Jongin gently asks, like he always would which makes Baekhyun's heart flutter even more if possible. "You're so busy that you don't have time to look at me." he says. If it were someone else, Baekhyun would have received a frown from the other guy. Because first of all, why does he need to look at Baekhyun? They're not even dating. But this is Jongin. And being Jongin, he chuckles at Baekhyun and moves a little further to properly face the other and stares at him. With that mesmerizing smile of his. Baekhyun is thankful that Jongin is a gentleman, but he's not as thankful that Jongin is staring at him. "Not like that!," he whines as he playfully pushed the other away. "I'm feeling conscious.." Jongin laughs that adorable laugh that Baekhyun finds endearing and says, "You wanted me to look at you." Baekhyun huffs, "You were staring, not looking."

Jongin shrugs and continues on with his homework. Baekhyun never liked how easy it always was for the other to stop focusing on him. He loudly exhales and thinks he should keep his head up at all times. So he does as he asks the other, "Do you have anything to do after school later?"

"None." Jongin says as he scribbles down an equation on his notebook. His face is serious once again. Excitement couldn't be kept hidden on Baekhyun's face as Jongin's answer finally hit him. "Really?!" Jongin says yes, really. Baekhyun almost jumps in joy while the other is still to busy to look at him. "Then that means I can take you tonight?" he says. This time, the other boy looks back at him again, brows furrowed in utter confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Take you home." Baekhyun simply says.

"I--"

"I mean..." Baekhyun sighs, "My parents are holding a small gathering tonight. And I would want to take you there as my date."

Jongin visibly stiffens at the exact point where Baekhyun said the word "date" and when it comes to the Byuns, it is already given that a "small" gathering is already a grand event. This makes Jongin nervous. "But--"

"It's okay. I've got everything settled." Baekhyun interrupts him too cheerfully. But Jongin isn't settled himself. 

Before he could even protest, Baekhyun is already up from his seat. He pecks Jongin on the cheek and says, "I'll see you later, baby~"

Baby... 

He could not like it when Baekhyun calls him that. Things happen when Baekhyun calls him that.
