Stuck on Your Arm

Description

Kim Jongdae was no coward nor a chicken. He might be a wallflower, a nobody within the confines of his high school campus (heck, he had zero percent popularity, a few one friend, and absoutely no money or status), but one thing he had was resolve. That was why with the biggest annual senior dance coming up, he had decided (with the pushing of his friends, no doubt) to ask or get asked by the super tall giant of the Student Council, the man who his fluttering eyes constantly gazed upon longingly.

Park Chanyeol.

But with his though-the-ground status within the school, no one pays attention to his advances of any sort. When he comes up with a plan--what happens when it all goes wrong? His little heart-felt confession ended up in the hands (more specifically, the elbow) of the oh-so-perfect student council President.

Kim Joonmyeon.

Foreword

"Jongdae-ah, stop being such a girl. Man up, bro!"

Jongdae snickered in return, lips curling into a teasing smile as he turned to face the other, "Says the boy who's got the prettiest face in the country."

Luhan raised his fist playfully threatening the other, "At least I don't just watch the person who's got my heart from the sidelines." Jongdae guffawed, "Yea, you don't just watch. You bowl him over and then act cute with pink dusted on your fair cheeks," he danced away from Luhan's flustered fist, throwing mocking air hearts at the other.

Voice softening to imitate the not-so-secret secret crush of baby-faced Luhan, Jongdae simpered up to his friend, "Oh my, I'm sorry, princess. Did I hurt you?"

Luhan blushed, his cheeks reddening as he shrieked shrilly, "Kim Jongdae! One more word and your precious family jewels will hang above the school gates!" With crinkled eyes and a bright smile, Jongdae flitted from side to side on the rooftop, laughing as he avoided the various flailing punches and slaps that Luhan directed towards him.

When he finally had enough, Luhan flounced on a bench, huffing, "Stupid idiot." Jongdae settled down right beside the frowning figure, leaning against the petulant frame, slightly out of breath. A comfortable silence settled between them, sometimes broken by occasional mumbles from the baby-faced student.

Gazing up at the sky above him, listening to the grumbles of the other boy, he nearly fell of the bench when suddenly Luhan shot up, face suddenly serious.

"Yah, dare or dare?"

Jongdae grinned at the words, often exchanged since childhood together, "Dare."

Luhan smiled tightly, a determined spark evident in his eyes, "I dare you to ask him to the dance, or get asked by him." Jongdae's breath hitched, smirking playfully even as his heart pounded heavily in his chest. He nodded slowly, going through with their short ritual words, "My dare is your dare. He who fails--," he trailed off, looking at the other.

"--admits that they're the chicken," their voices blending in together. They laughed together at the memories of their childhood bantering. With the breeze caressing their faces, Jongdae closed his eyes.

"How do you plan on doing this?"

Luhan's voice was smug, "Why would I tell you?"

Jongdae paused before snickering, "Scared?"

Luhan scoffed, "As if," he bit his lip, "--you?"

"I'm no chicken."

"Prove it."
