"Hey, I've been looking for you everywhere!"

It was already dead silent in the library that the loudness of the sudden remark made Kai jump in his seat and drop his book, making him lose his spot.

Kai looked up with a serious face to his friend. "Are you serious right now? Are you freaking serious? Like, why?" Kai asked annoyingly as he picked up the book he was reading and tried to find the page he was on but gave up when he couldn't remember the last page he read.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you," Lay smiled innocently and took a seat next to Kai. "So, this is what you do when you have free time? That's soooo not you," Lay chuckled at his friend. Kai placed the book he had on the table and turned his body a little so he was facing Lay.

"Not always, but it's one of the things I like to do. It's nice to get away from the world for a little bit, you know?"

Lay shrugged but nodded in agreement. "So, we should catch up! I don't remember the last time we talked. What's new? Seems like there's A LOT that's new," Lay emphasized the term 'a lot' as he widened his eyes.

"Yup, there definitely is a lot," Kai sighed as he turned to face the table and placed his elbows on the table top.

"Tell me about it. So... This is probably really random, but Luhan and I just talked to Sehun earlier," Lay stated and hoped Kai wouldn't get mad and just walk out. Kai shifted slightly in his seat after hearing his friend's comment.

"Oh yeah? That's cool. And you're telling me why?"

"Because he told us everything about you guys and Mira. Or almost everything."

This made Kai look up and he had a curious expression which showed that he wanted to know more.

"What exactly did you guys talk about?" A curious Kai couldn't help but wonder what Sehun must have said about the group and Mira. If anyone knew the details behind Mira's past, it was Sehun. But too bad he wasn't really someone he could easily go to anymore so he could just ask Sehun himself.

"Well, for starters, he told us that our group is pretty much extinct. That you all attended different middle schools and lost contact. He told us that you and him aren't even best friends anymore and don't even talk, which I still find unrealistic. He also mentioned that there's something up with Mira. He updated us on a lot, but I still feel like that's not all," Lay looked questioningly at Kai and rose his eyebrow.

" to say, but everything you said right now is true. And what about Mira?"

Now it was Lay's turn to shift slightly in his seat because if there was something that Lay and Luhan shouldn't do, it's to tell Kai. Why? Because out of everyone in the group, it didn't matter if she knew them for the longest or the shortest. For Mira, at least in the past, Kai was her best friend, the one who she felt the most comfortable with on another level. They shared a lot in common and thought alike.

Everyone, especially Baekhyun and Sehun, believed that if anyone should tell Kai, it should be Mira herself.

It was definitely eating Lay up because he really wanted the group back together but keeping secrets from each other wasn't the way to do it. Seeing how interested and curious his friend was really made him want to tell him everything he knew.

Kai was starting to lose his patience, but tried his best to remain calm, "Well? What did you guys talk about that concerned Mira?"

Lay looked Kai straight into his eyes honestly and answered, "You know by now that Mira isn't the same Mira we knew before, right?"

Kai nodded his head as he kept a serious expression on his face.

Lay continued, "And you know that there are a lot of things she can't remember, correct?" Kai nodded his head slowly.

Taking his eyes off from Kai, Lay slouched in his seat and stared blankly at the table in front of him. This time, he spoke softly and more quiet than before, "If you really want to know, you should talk to Mira yourself. You're the bro, but I think you should be the one to ask her in person."

Kai looked at Lay in disbelief. "Why can't you just tell me? You're already half way there. You know very well that this topic is not something to be taken lightly. Such memories shouldn't be brought back up to Mira, especially from me!"

Suddenly Lay stood up from his seat and slammed his hands down onto the table and looked intently at the younger male. Such actions made Kai flinch, for he wasn't sure why his friend was suddenly acting like this. Lay was always calm, happy, and bright, so to see him speak up in a sharp tone made Kai a little scared.

"Look Kai, the reason why the other guys and I are not telling you is because it's for your own good. If you really want to know the truth, you HAVE to talk to Mira. If you don't want to, then that's your choice," Lay stated bluntly and took his hands off the table and crossed his arms against his chest as he looked down at Kai.

"Wait... The others know? How long did they know? How can you guys do that to me? I didn't do anything wrong! I don't know what the hell is going on!" Kai was struck with confusion and started raising his voice, despite the quiet atmosphere of the library. Lay noticed the annoyed looks and glares that they were receiving from other students in the building, as well as the old librarian lady who was telling them to quiet down or else they would face the consequences.

Lay lightly bowed to the students and librarian apologetically. Lay now talked in a hushed tone, "Kai, I'm sorry we're doing this to you but it's for the best right now. Please try to understand. If Mira were to find out that we're all talking behind her back, she'll dump us, AGAIN. And this time, she'll mean it. But if we try to get her to remember and if you talk to her, maybe, just maybe... She'll recall some of her memories. Isn't that what you want?"

Kai couldn't help but let out a frustrated sigh, but he knew Lay was right.

"The reason why we all want you to ask her how and why she can't remember is because maybe it might trigger something in her brain. Maybe she'll remember what happened to her and how we're all tied into this. If it works, then you can help her remember. If it doesn't work, then it's okay. No matter what happens, we'll always be there for her, whether she wants it or not. We don't want to lose her and our group again."

Kai remained silent as he sat still in his seat and looked down an aisle of books, searching for the right thing to say. Little did Lay know how much Kai was hurting. To have your friends and people who used to be your friends, although it's difficult to say what they are right now, to keep something from you was hurtful. To have them know something that you didn't know. To know that your best friend couldn't remember who you were. That was what Kai was thinking about non-stop in his head.

But everything that Lay said wasn't intended to hurt Kai, but instead to protect him and most importantly, Mira. Kai understood that but it was still difficult to accept that. He also knew that he was willing to try anything to get her remember, and he knew that there may be a chance that he might not succeed.

Seeing how stressed Kai looked, Lay patted the younger's back and hoped it would comfort Kai. It wasn't easy for any of them.

"Okay hyung, I'll talk to her. I don't know when and I don't know what the outcome will be... But I will try and do anything to help her remember," Kai looked down his his hands.

"You don't have to. I mean, it's all up to you," Lay responded.

"Yes, I know. But I want to try."

Lay expressed a small smile and pinched Kai's cheek. "Aish, look at our little Jongie. You were always someone we could count on. You're so mature now. I wish I was there to see you grow."

Kai brushed Lay's hand away and smiled, "Shut up, I'm only a year younger than you. Not even a year, more like three months! And be quiet with that 'Jongie is so grown up' crap. You're going to make me rethink this whole thing."

"Yeah right, we all know you want to talk to Mira about it, whether if we asked you to or not," Lay let out a chuckle as he punched his friend lightly on his arm. He then took out his phone to look at the time and realized that their break was almost over.

"Well, I have to head to the dance room right now so I can get there early to help Mrs. Kwon get things organized for the choreography. I'll catch you later, okay? Jongie..." Lay snickered at Kai's old nickname as a child.

"Shut up. See ya, Layers," Kai playfully scoffed and waved goodbye as Lay started walking away but remembered something. "Wait, hyung!"

Lay turned around and looked at Kai who was now running up to him. "Yeah, what is it? Miss me already?" Lay laughed at his own joke which earned a shove by Kai.

"No, you're not that special, haha. Anyways, the guys, as in Tao, Chen, Mira, and I, were thinking about having a picnic on Friday. You know, just like old times. Maybe it'll trigger Mira to remember something. I think Mira is inviting Sehun, Chanyeol, and Kyungsoo. Call it a reunion, if you want," Kai said.

If the gleam in Lay's eyes weren't enough, then his reaction said it all, "Are you freaking serious?! HELL YEAH, MAN!"

Lay realized he said it a little too loud when he noticed people looking their way and responded in a more quiet voice, "I'm so down! I'll tell Luhan and I'll hit you guys up! Here, input your number. Actually, input everyone's number that you have," Lay enthusiastically took out his phone and shoved it into Kai's hands.

Kai dialed his number in first and saved it under 'Jongie' with a heart as a joke. He then took out his phone and dialed in the other's numbers onto Lay's phone. Baekhyun under 'Baek' , Tao under 'Princess', and Chen under 'Troll King' - the love he had for his friends was definitely evident.

Without checking his phone, Lay put his phone back into his pocket when Kai gave the device back to him. Lay gave a bro-hug to Kai before departing and waved goodbye. When Lay had exited the library, Kai picked up his belongings and began walking towards his next class.

Because he was thinking about the whole situation with Mira and how he should ask her, he totally forgot about the quiz he had to take in his next period, so he was definitely in for another surprise when he entered his classroom.

Today, Mira decided to walk home alone after school. Although Chen and the guys offered to drive her home, she felt the need to say 'No' so she could have time for herself and think without any distractions. Not that she thought they were distractions.

Okay, maybe a little bit but that wasn't the point. The point was that she just wanted to be alone.

She couldn't shake off that sudden image that popped into her head when all of them were at the mall that one day. The more she thought of it, the more confused she felt. She's witnessed the image, but was it a dream or was it a memory from her past?

Even though she continued to think of it, her brain wouldn't allow her to remember it. It prevented her from remembering anything else that was related to the so-called memory/dream. But she knew there was more to the dream than just that still image of a few kids at a playground. Kids who couldn't really recognize and voices she couldn't match a name or face to.

They most certainly weren't any of Jae's friends and she was sure of it.

She obviously wasn't going to get any answer to her question any time soon, so Mira decided to brush it off for now. She reached her house and quietly went inside, only to find a lazy bum in her presence.

Mira found a lazy Sehun lying on the couch like a lifeless sloth who was absorbed into whatever commercial was playing at the moment. They barely talked the whole day today and it was seriously starting to make her depressed. Whether she should even attempt to approach him or not was the big question. She already wasted too much of her time trying to apologize to Sehun, but she knows that he just won't give in and accept her apology.

Sehun, in general, was beyond stubborn and hard-headed. She figured that when he's ready, he'll go up to her to finally talk. She sighed quietly and walked up the stairs as silent as she could so she could ignore any awkward confrontation with Sehun. When she finally reached her room, she passed by Jae's room and saw him drawing some pictures at his desk. She walked inside to say hello to her little brother before heading towards her room and closed the door.

Sehun on the other hand noticed Mira when she entered the house, but he didn't feel like he had the need to say anything. It would be a lie if he said he didn't feel bad towards Mira, especially since she's been trying so hard to get his attention to apologize. He tried so hard not to greet her by staring at the TV, which was playing a horrible commercial that was trying to sell a useless product.

When he heard her shut her door, Sehun relaxed and closed his eyes. This "joke" was getting old and it was getting to the point where he actually missed talking to Mira. Sure he was mad at her before, but its was done and in the past now.

"Aish, it was funny in the beginning but now it's just quiet and boring," Sehun opened his eyes and pouted to himself.

The awkward part, at least to him, is getting up the courage to talk to her again. He was a man. He felt like he shouldn't be the one to break first. But seeing how much she's tried, he doubts she'll attempt to talk to him again for awhile.

"Welp, here goes nothing, I guess," Sehun hopped off the couch and lazily walked up the stairs. Once in front of her room, Sehun knocked lightly and waited unti
