Chapter 1

She's the One

You stared down at the floor as you forced yourself to keep breathing. Shallow breaths that helped keep the queasiness in your stomach.
"Feeling nervous?" your best friend asked as she smiled at you.
You tried to put a smile on your face as well but failed. "Yeah." you confessed.
"Don't be!" she giggled and fixed a strand of your hair. "You're absolutely beautiful and this feels completely right."
"Really?" you questioned.
She gave you a pointed look. "No, no, no. You are not getting cold feet. You want to do this and you know it."
You closed your eyes and took a shaky breath. Yes, you did want to do this. It was just a case of frantic nerves that was making you have doubts.
"That's it." your friend encouraged, seeing your resolve.
Opening your eyes, you gave her a genuine smile this time. "Thank you."
"That's what I'm here for, aren't I?" she teased with a little wink.
You glanced at yourself in the mirror again. Everything was perfect. The dress, your hair, and your jewelry. And everything that was waiting for you. Feeling the nausea in your stomach lessen, you dared take a deep breath.
"It's time."

The doors opened and suddenly you were the focus of everyone's attention. The only person you could see though was on the other side of the room. Yongguk waited for you under the canopy, looking more handsome than ever.
Swallowing, you made your way towards him. As long as you stared at him, you could ignore the nerves that threatened to overtake your body.
When you finally reached him, you noticed how watery his eyes were. As if he was trying to not cry. You felt tears well up in your eyes in response but you battered your lashes, making the tears go away.
"You're beautiful." he whispered, never taking his gaze off of you.
You lightly blushed but didn't look away either. For the entire ceremony, the two of you gazed lovingly at each other. Only when you heard the words from the officiant did either of you remember all the other people in the room.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife."

You were finally able to breath normally at the reception. You sat at the long table that was raised on a little stage, overlooking the crowd of people who were sitting at their own tables or dancing out on the floor.
To your right was Yongguk and on your left was your best friend, the maid of honor. Himchan was sitting next to Yongguk as the best man to complete the wedding party's table.
You picked at the food on your plate, having eaten more than enough of the delicious food. The whole day really had been so nerve-racking, you couldn't wait to get back to the hotel room where you could have some alone time with your new husband.
A commotion next to you made you turn your head and you watched as Himchan battered Yongguk's desperate attempts to sit him down away. Himchan signaled the DJ to stop the music while Yongguk placed his head in his hand and groaned.
"May I have everyone's attention please!" Himchan loudly called out to everyone, earning their attention. "There is usually a custom for the best man to toast the newly married couple. Since you are all weighed down by eating the food so you can't run out of the room, I figured now is as good as any time to force you to listen to me."
You joined the crowd in laughing. Yongguk couldn't help but smile as well as he snuck a glance at you.
"Now most speeches involve just how much the couple is made for each other. Or maybe a bit nostalgic, bringing up a few embarrassing moments of the groom's past."
"Himchan." Yongguk quietly begged as he grabbed the boy's arm.
Himchan coolly brushed him off though and continued. "Or perhaps reaffirming the groom's love for the bride in the moments when he is away from her. But I thought instead of me saying all that, it would be best if you heard it from the man himself."
The smile quickly disappeared from Yongguk's face. "What are you doing?"
Himchan slyly smiled at Yongguk and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know you remember when this happened but I bet you didn't know that I still have it."
Yongguk's face paled considerably. "What?"
Himchan merely pointed at the large, flatscreen tv that was mounted on the wall. "Play the video."
The crowd murmured in surprise and confusion as a video appeared on the screen. There was some noise before the camera came in to focus while pointing at the floor. When it panned upwards, you saw Yongguk sitting on a couch. There were several beer bottles littering the table and he took a drink out of the one in his hand before adding it to the mess.
"Come on. Say it for the camera." Himchan's voice said from the video.
You quickly looked at Yongguk but his eyes stayed frozen on the tv screen. From his wide eyes and his open mouth though, it was more than obvious he was mortified. You turned your attention away from him and back to the video.

"Come on!"
Yongguk looked in to the camera, clearly drunk. "Turn that off." he slurred.
"Not until you say it again." Himchan teased.
A bashful smile formed on Yongguk's face. "Stop."
"Say what you said about her again."

You inhaled sharply, frozen in shock now too.
"Shut up!" Yongguk complained.
The video changed angles as Himchan walked around the table.
"Just do it." Himchan insisted, pushing the guy.
Yongguk playfully pushed him back. Then a small twinkle formed in his eye as he looked off to the side and bit his bottom lip.
"Come on, come on, come on, come on.."
"She's the one." Yongguk finally said, instantly turning red and not just from the alcohol.
Himchan chuckled. "You've only been dating a couple of months though."
Yongguk slowly shook his head. "That doesn't matter. When you know, you just know."
"So you love her?"

Your heart hammered in your chest at hearing the question.
A shy smile grew. "Yeah." Yongguk said, barely above a whisper. "I love her."
"Louder!" admonished Himchan.
Yongguk groaned but gave in to the demand. "I love her."
"Louder!"
"I love her!"
"Louder!"
Suddenly Yongguk stood on the couch. "I love her!" he loudly proclaimed. "I love her, I love her, I love her!"

The people at the wedding cooed at his behavior and giggled.
Yongguk went to step off of the couch but stumbled over his own feet and crashed to the floor.
This time the wedding hall was filled with the sound of laughing.
"You okay?" Himchan asked, quickly going to his friend.
Yongguk groaned as he rolled on to his back but the smile was still on his face. Which of course made Himchan chuckle and more.
"Okay, okay. You love her and you're going to marry her."
"Yep." Yongguk proudly declared. "She's the one. I just know it." He got that same twinkle in his eye again as he stared in to the camera. "I can see it when I look at her. She's my future. My everything." He closed his eyes before saying your name out loud in reverence.
"When are you going to tell her?"
The smile faded from his face for a brief moment as he thought about it. But then a bright, gummy smile showed. "Tomorrow. I'll tell her that I love her tomorrow."
"Awwww" Himchan cooed as he reached down and pinched Yongguk's cheek.
"Stop!" Yongguk demanded and swatted him away. "Okay, enough." He promptly rolled on his stomach and hid his red face in his arms.

The video stopped playing and you swallowed past a lump in your throat. No fighting them anymore, tears of happiness flowed down your cheeks. When you felt a hand touch your hand, you turned to see Yongguk sheepishly looking at you.
"I love you." he said and reached up to wipe your tears.
"I love you." you replied before pulling him in for a hug.
The reception hall echoed with cheers, causing the two of you to blush as you pulled away.
Himchan signaled everyone to be quiet, gaining the attention on him once more. "If anyone is curious, he chickened out and waited another two weeks."
Shrieks of laughter from the crowd and Yongguk treated Himchan to a smack on the arm.
Himchan waved everyone quiet again while chuckling. "But it didn't matter. I knew from that night, that she was the one for him. And sure enough, here we are two years later." He faced Yongguk and gripped the guy's shoulder. "Congratulations buddy. I hope the two of you continue to make each other so happy that you'll shout it from rooftops. Or couches if you prefer."
The reception hall erupted in thunderous applause. A teary eyed Yongguk stood up and pulled his best friend in for a hug.
"I hate you. I hope you know that." Yongguk told him.
Himchan smirked. "And I still have a dent on my floor."
They playful pushed and smacked each other as they both took their seats again. You reached over and grabbed Yongguk's hand, squeezing tightly.
He turned and smiled at you before turning a bit sheepish. "You don't regret marrying me already do you?"
You shook your head while giggling. "Absolutely not." You leaned forward to see around him and looked at Himchan. "And I want a copy of that video."
"Already made one and it's in with the wedding gifts." he replied with a little wink.
Yongguk let out a groan and covered his face with his other hand.
