“You want me to believe that there is a place out there where I can be free from this nightmare?” Baekhyun asked the girl beside him. She nodded her head enthusiastically. “So I should just sit back and let the bastards who took away the most important people in my life not just once, but twice go free? That is the only way for me to enter this paradise?” Once again, she nodded her head at him seeing that he was beginning to understand her point. He scoffed at her in disbelief. “That’s bull. I don’t care what you have to say; I don’t believe such a place exists. Those bastards who took everything away from me will pay for what they did.”

Baekhyun’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he swiftly got up to leave. “If that’s all that you have to say then you can forget about it.”

She stared at his receding back with wide eyes. She was unable to get through to him. She could not stop him from going down a dangerous path that would only hurt him further.

‘I am not meant for happiness. Peace will never accompany me in this lifetime if I am unable to hear their pains of agony. The boiling hatred in my heart will never calm down until my sword gets to drink their blood.’

The words rang through his head loud and clear as he walked away without looking back. As he disappeared into the shrouding trees, Baekhyun once again closed off his heart. Only this time, it was unlike the many times before. This time, he had to fight himself from running back to her and wrapping her up in his arms and telling her over and over again how much he loved her.

“Don’t go, Baekhyun. I love you,” she whispered as tears streaked down her face.

She felt a gentle touch land upon her shoulder. She slowly looked up to see Luhan staring down at her. A small smile graced his face, pain evident in his eyes as he watched the girl he loved shed tears for another man.

In a tender voice above a whisper he told her, “The choice is his to make; it is not your battle to fight. If he chooses the right path, he will be able to join us among the stars.”

A sob escaped her lips as she reluctantly nodded her head in understanding as the pair faded into the darkness. High up in the night sky, two stars appeared; they sparkled brightly as they watched over Baekhyun from above.

Author's Note: Hello! I hope you all enjoyed it! This will be my first fanfic in forever! Meaning that this is my first story here on AF. I used to write on Winglin, but that was all in the past. I don't even remmeber my username or the title of my stories. I haven't written since I was in junior high school. And honestly, I am usually so bad that I never finish them. I always come up with new ones but never finish. I pray that the past does not repeat for this story!
