The four kingdoms were on high alert. It was that time again. The Shadow-Whisps were searching for their new heir(s). The royal bloodline of the Shadow-Whisps chose not to have children of their own and instead took from other kingdoms. The last time they chose an heir was 25 years ago. The boy they took, Kris, was turning thirty and he had decided it was time to choose new heirs. Yes, this time he was going to choose two children to rule side by side. The Whisps knew the panic they caused, grinning like fools and even shifting to human forms to join in like it was a party.

Kris had perched himself on his throne as he pondered who to rip away from their family. He wouldn't exactly call it "kidnapping"; he preffered the term "giving them a better future". When he was taken from his kingdom at the tender age of five, he hated the Whisps kingdom and refused to cooperate with anyone. He only wanted his parents. That was his mistake. Instead of letting him go as he'd hoped, he was forced to watch them be mercilesly killed. After witnessing such terror at such a young age, anyone would lose their will to resist. He gave up fighting and let the servants tend to him and his needs. After a while, his new "father" requested to be called by a new name.

"Siwon-ssi, I want to-"

"Call me Appa." Siwon interrupted.

"A-Appa..." the seven year old stuttered. The word was foreign to him. He hadn't used it in two years.

Looking back, Kris could only scoff at himself and how weak he was. Thanks to his new father he had become stronger. He'd grown wiser and more fearless. Now, it was time to pass on the legacy. A wicked smile spread across his face as his servant handed him the images of two children smiling brightly. One child was as lovely as the most beautiful night and the other was as handsome as the brightest morning.

"Their names?" he asked.

"The raven haired boy is called Minhyun. The golden haired child is called Luhan, highness."

"Bring them to me."
