Taeyeon Kim was very inlove with her Girlfriend Jessica Jung. Taeyeon folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to her girl. Although, at that time she was just a small executive in her company and her future doesn't seemed too bright, they were very happy together. However one day, Jessica told her that she is going to Paris and will never come back. She also told her that she cannot visualize any future for the both of them, so she wanted to go separate ways there and then... She was heartbroken but she agreed.

When she regained her confidence, she worked hard day and night, slogging her mind and body just to make a name for herself. Finally with plenty of hardwork and the help of friends, she managed to set up her own company.

"You'll never fail until you stop trying." she always told himself.
"I must make it in life!"

One rainy day, while she was driving, she saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize those were her ex-girlfriend's parents. She delibrately drove slowly beside the couple,hoping they spot her in her luxury sedan. She wanted them to know that she wasn't the same anymore. she had her own company, car, condominium, etc. she had made it in life!

Before she realized it, the couple was entering a cemetary. Taeyeon got out of her car and followed them. There, she saw her ex-girlfriend. A photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at her from her tombstone. She saw her precious paper cranes placed in a bottle beside her tomb. Her parents saw her. She walked over and asked them how did this happen. They explained that she did not leave for France after all. She was ill stricken with cancer. In her heart, she believed that she will make it in life someday. However. she did not want her illness to be her obstacle. Therefore she chose to leave her.

She had wanted her parents to put her paper cranes beside her because if the day comes when fate brings her to Jessica again, she can take some of them back with her. Taeyeon wept miserably. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them but knowing you can't have them and will never see them again.
