“I’ll see you later. I love you.” He gave me a quick peck on the cheek before rushing off.

     “Jong… In.” A pout formed on my lips when I didn’t get to hold his wrist and make him stay for a little longer.

     “Aww, that’s okay, Yunnie. You’ll see him later.” I glanced at my friend, Eun Mi, and sadly smiled at her. Jongin has always been busy practicing for the upcoming dance competition. Competitions between universities were held every year and he has been chosen to represent our university. He was expected to win and show the other universities that we have the best dancers. They had auditions for girl dancers and to my dismay I didn’t get accepted. Jongin were to compete twice, one for his solo and another with a partner. I am very happy for Jongin, not to mention very proud of him too. BUT, I was starting to feel jealous to his dance partner, Lee Shin Ah. They were always together, which I understand and I don’t really mind that, but that girl kept on trying to flirt with my boyfriend. It was making me mad and frustrated.

    “Don’t worry, Yun Ae, the competition is almost there. Let’s just support Jongin, okay? After that, you’ll have him again on your side every day.” Kyungsoo patted my shoulder and showed me one of his adorable smiles. I could only nod my head and let out a soft sigh.

     Mumbling, I looked at the clock. “Why is he still not here?” I heard the wind chimes and quickly I spun around with at big grin only for it to be replaced with a disappointed look.

     “Are you that upset to see me?” Kyungsoo smiled and sat down across my seat and I shook my head.

     “No, it’s just that I’ve been waiting for an hour and Jongin is still not here.”

     “Uh… about that…” He started. Immediately my face fell and so did my heart.

     “Don’t tell me he’s not coming.” I muttered and watched Kyungsoo as he nervously tapped the table and finally nodded. Sighing for the nth time, my eyelids closed and I leaned on my chair.

     “He sent me here to tell you that he’s sorry because they had an urgent practice and their phones were taken away. I’m also here to accompany you.”

     “No, it’s alright, Kyungsoo. Go and spend your time with your girlfriend.” I said.

     “Eun Mi’s busy doing some presentation for the high school students.” He puffed his cheeks and looked around. “Let’s just hang out since we’re already here.” He continued and turned his attention back to me. I shrugged and agreed.

     “Alright.”

     It was like that for weeks. Eun Mi always busy with her volunteering part of the program she was in and Jongin was still occupied with his dance practice. Kyungsoo would always hang out with me whenever Jongin’s not there or if he is, he would tag along. Same thing if Eun Mi was there, they’d let me come with them, but of course most of the time it was only me and Kyungsoo.  We’ve gotten closer to each other and whenever he was around, he’d supress my longing for Jongin’s presence. I was glad that at least I have someone whenever the love of my life wasn’t there… but before I know it…

I already was relying too much on Kyungsoo.
