Chapter 14

Almost eight hours later, Yunho pulled the car to a stop in a field near a deserted crossroad. Yuri looked around the area & turned a skeptical eye on him. They had gone sightseeing over what felt like most of the city, most of the places having some tourists value. The significance of this latest spot, however, was completely lost on Yuri, "I give up." She said.

Yunho smiled at her & pulled out a large basket from the trunk. It's delicious aroma had been teasing Yuri for the past thirty minutes but Yunho wouldn’t allow her to open it. He had picked it up at Samwon Garden on the tail end of their sight-seeing excursion.

"Finally we get to open it." She said, no longer caring that they were in the middle of nowhere. Despite all of the junk they had eaten earlier in the day, she was ready for the food.

"Yes, ms. impatient." Yunho found a blanket in the trunk & spread it in the field. He carefully began to pull cartoons of food from the basket. Yuri oohed over the feast & began to help him.

Later, hunger completely sated, they lay across the blanket. Yuri lay on her side, playing with a bit of grass. Yunho lay on his back, his arms folded behind his head, staring up at the blue sky.

"Samwon Garden is a great place." Yuri told him, "Their food is wonderful."

"That's why, my dear." Yunho said, "It's probably your favorite restaurant."

"Yeah, it will." Yuri turned a suspicious eye on him, "Wait a minute. It already is my favorite restaurant? Yunho Oppa, do I sense an ulterior motive?" She felt so warm & fuzzy inside to be angry with him.

"Guilty." Yunho admitted unabashedly, "I knew you loved it so that's where I got lunch."

"You cheater." Yuri tossed an empty water bottle at him. Yunho ducked slightly but laughed at her, "What else are you up to?" She asked him, "All of those places you took me, too."

"Oh, alright." Yunho rolled towards her, "Since I'm caught, I may as well fess up. Yes, the korean restaurant was your favorite as I have already let slip but it was also the place where I proposed to you."

Yuri gasped, touched. That had been incredibly romantic, "Really?" She asked.

"Yes." Yunho assured her. Then continued, ticking off all of the places they have visited & their significance. Yuri felt herself going all mushy inside & there was precious little she could do to stop it but Yunho wasn't finished with her.

"The zoo is where you first told me you loved me. Right in front of the monkey & gorilla exhibit."

Yuri laughed at that, fighting the wetness that threatened her eyes, "I wonder whatever caused me to choose such a spot?" She tried to joke.

"It didn't matter to me." Yunho assured her, "I was so gone over you, woman, that it was music to my ear no matter where we were."

Yuri gave up & let the tear fall. Yunho smiled & gently wiped it away. She vaguely wondered whatever had possessed her to think that she could resist this man, "Okay." She said, her voice wavering slightly, "What about this place? It's a deserted road."

"Oh, no." Yunho spoke softly, his gaze locked with hers. He ran a gentle finger along the side of her face, "This isn't just any road. This is our crossroad."

"Our crossroad?" Yuri asked, confused & mesmerized.

"First kiss." Yunho told her.

Yuri felt the breath leaving out of her, "First kiss?" She whispered, the question.

"Yes." Yunho murmured back, his eyes dropping to her light pink lips, "Yes." He murmured again, his words almost a litany guiding her to answer in kind to his unspoken question.

Yuri didn’t disappoint him.

Their lips touched & a raging fire sparked between them. Yunho didn’t kiss her chastely as he had before but took in a feverishly building passion. Yuri gave in completely. There was no more denying that she loved this man. She couldn't remember him but still she loved him. It was a conundrum & she didn't care.

The sound of a passing automobile pulled them from their passion-drugged stupor. Yuri gazed up at her husband stunned, "Take me home, Oppa. Please take me home."

Yunho was sure that no picnic was ever cleaned up as quickly as his & Yuri’s had been. They had tossed their lunch remained into the basket & climbed into the car.

They had shared a final passionate kiss before he had turned the car around & headed back towards the city. Once awakened, Yuri’s passion ran hot. Throughout the drive, she tormented him by running her hand along his thigh or running her lips along the back of his hand.

By the time they were inside the house, it was all he could do to get the door locked before they were in one another's arm. They did eventually make it up the stairs.

Later, Yunho lay beside Yuri in bed, his head propped up on one elbow. She was so beautiful & there was something he desperately needed to tell her. As he lay watching her, her eyes opened & she smiled a shy grin, "Come here!" She commanded, pulling him towards her.

Yunho was barely able to pull away moments later when they broke the kiss, "I have to tell you something." He said, taking both of her wandering hands in his. One look at the fire in her eyes & he nearly put off what he needed to say but closing his eyes, he gathered his strength. After they had become so intimate again, he felt a fraud to keep the truth from her.

"Yuri, there's something very important I need to tell you."
