How could they do that? How could they just throw their own kids out of the house with just a cold and emotionless “We can’t feed you anymore” and left them to fend from themselves. And at just 16 years old, Sehun had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Luhan didn’t look all that convinced either, never expecting for their parents to actually kick them out and tell them to find a source to feed themselves without their help. But that’s how Luhan has always been, looking for the best in people’s hearts. Sometimes Sehun was envious of this capability, because he just couldn’t pretend to don’t see the hatred in their parents’ eyes every time they were looking at the two of them.

It had been a blur, how they were kicked out and left alone. There is nothing they could do. So here they were, sat on the side of a country road, the younger boy’s head on his brother’s shoulder as they both watched people passing by them, not even turning to look at the two of them.

They had nothing. But they had each other.

Which was good enough for the moment.

‘Sehun…’

‘Hm?’

‘I just remembered something.’ Luhan informed his younger brother.

‘We have some hidden gold coins somewhere?’ He asked sarcastically.

Luhan threw him an exasperate look.

‘No. I wish though.’ He sighed. ‘I remember that yesterday I talked about people that were hiring at this time with Chanyeol.’

‘Chanyeol?’

‘The blacksmith’s son, the tall one that smiles too much.’ Sehun nodded, remembering who this Chanyeol was. ‘Well, he said the farm across the town was hiring…also the Wu’s.’
