“…kook… earth… ung kook... Jung kook! Earth to Jung kook!”

The faded voice soon echoed to become a distinct sound, wakening me from… whatever my subconscious mind allowed me to do.

“Homework please.”

Myung Hee held out a palm as she stood next to my figure, with all eyes from my peers on me. Zip-open-take out book-give to Myung Hee. Done.

“See me after class.” She ordered.

Ugh. But… I did my homework. :(

“I see you’ve been dazing off in my class.” Myung Hee stated as she crossed her arms.

“Ne? Oh. Yeah… I guess it’s because I’ve been overwhelmed with the homework given. I… was having trouble.”

“Then why didn’t you see me or call me?”

“Ne?”

“I could have helped you.”

“Oh. It’s okay. I had Dae Eun-ah.”

“Oh. Okay.”

And the awkward silence commences.

“So… end of semester exams are coming up soon.”

“Huh? Oh. Right.”

“I’d be glad to help you out a bit, if you want.”

“It’s ok. You should focus on other students who really need that opportunity.”

“*chuckle* I guess… you’re right.”

Crickets.

“But even if… I struggle, I have Dae Eun-ah to help me. So… what I’m trying to say is that, you don’t need to worry about me.”

“Yeah… I guess. But, in the end, you should do the right thing, even if it’s hard.”

“Ne?”

“*small breath of laughter* don’t worry about it.”

“Um… okay. Well, I’m gonna get…”

“Do you want… to get… coffee? With me?” She interrupted… eagerly.

“Sorry… I have plans with Dae Eun-ah. Although, you’re not going to get much taller if you keep drinking coffee.”

“*chuckle* I can drink all the coffee I want, whenever I want. It’s a free country!”

“*chuckle* I guess. I’ll see you around.”

“Yeah, you too.”
