Season 1 Episode 1: Pokémon- I Choose You! Part 1

 

[Taeyeon is in his room watching a Pokémon battle on the television.]

 

Taeyeon: I am Taeyeon.  

Narrator: Kim Taeyeon is a boy from Pallet Town.

Taeyeon: Now that I’m 15, I’m finally going to get my Pokémon license.

Narrator: 12 year- olds can get a beginner Pokémon from Professor Choi; the town’s Pokémon expert.

Taeyeon: I will travel the world to gain the wisdom of Pokémon training, and I declare to the Pokémon of the world, I will become a Pokémon master. Pokémon master! That’s what I’ll-

BoA:  [Opens the door like a ninja and catches Taeyeon by surprise.] Taeyeon, get to bed! It’s 11:00 pm, you should be asleep!

Taeyeon: But tomorrow, I begin my Pokémon journey. I can’t sleep.

BoA: Well if you can’t sleep, at least be prepared for tomorrow. [takes the remote to the television.] Here, watch this.

 

[Channel turns to one with Professor Choi explaining what beginner Pokémon would be good to choose.]

 

Professor Siwon Choi: Good evening Pallet. Tomorrow is the big day for the newest class of Pokémon trainers. Let me introduce you to Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Each one is available for new trainers, but which one shall you choose?

BoA: Go to bed when this is done.

Taeyeon: All right, I’m going.

BoA: Change into your pajamas, okay? [Exits closing the door.]

Taeyeon: I’m going.

 

 [Once the program is over Taeyeon falls asleep and sleep talks about which he Pokémon would choose.]

 

Taeyeon: Bulbasaur, that’d be really simple. It’s perfect for beginners.  [In his dream he throws a poké ball.] Bulbasaur, I choose you! [His voltorb shaped clock falls into his hand.] Then there is Squirtle. [In his dream he throws a Poké ball, but in real life he’s sitting up with a smile on his sleeping face.] Squirtle, I choose you! Choose it or lose it!. [Falls back down asleep.]

[It’s now morning and the Dodrio is crowing]

Taeyeon: [more sleep talk] Oh, Charmander. Most say that’s the best way to go. [In his dream he throws a Poké ball.] I choose you, Charmander! [In reality he throws his clock at the wall , it breaks and he wakes up in a panic.] AH! Oh no! What time is it?!

[Taeyeon is running as fast as he can to Professor Choi’s Lab]

Taeyeon: Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander. Anyone would be fine, just please save one for me!

 

 [Cheerleaders are cheering on Seunggi in a crowd of people.]

 

Cheerleaders: Seunggi, Seunggi, he’s our man! If he can’t do it, no one can! Seunggi, Seunggi [Taeyeon breaks through the cheerleaders] hey-

Taeyeon: Sorry. [runs into Seunggi and falls]

Seunggi: Yah! Watch where you’re going! Well, you must be Taeyeon; better late than never. At least you get the chance to meet me.

Taeyeon: Seunggi?

Seunggi- That’s Mr. Seunggi to you, show some respect! Well Taeyeon, you snooze you lose and you’re way behind right from the start. I’ve got a Pokémon and you don’t.

Taeyeon: You have a Pokémon?

Seunggi: That’s right loser and it’s inside this poke ball. [Turns to the crowd] Thank you everyone for this great honor! I promise you that I will become a great Pokémon master and make the town of Pallet known all around the world.

 

[Jessica Taeyeon’s best friend enters from Professor Choi’s Lab]

 

Jessica: Please Seunggi enough gloating. Keep it up and your head will be bigger than your body. Don’t even bother with him Tae.

Taeyeon: Seunggi, I was wondering what kind of Pokémon you have.

 

[Jessica face palms herself.]

 

Seunggi: None of your business. If you showed up on time you would’ve seen that I got the best Pokémon from professor Choi. It helps to have an Uncle in the Pokémon business. [gets into his car and drives away] Thank you all for coming out to see history in the making.  Now I Choi Seunggi am off to become a Pokémon trainer!

Taeyeon: Grrr… I’ll show him.

Jessica: He’s not even worth it Tae.

Professor Siwon Choi: [Enters] Oh you decided to show up after all?

Taeyeon: Professor Choi, where is my Pokémon?

Professor Siwon Choi: You’re Pokémon?

Taeyeon: Yes, I’m ready!

Professor Siwon Choi: You look more like you’re ready for bed, not for Pokémon training.

Taeyeon: Professor please, I got a little messed up this morning, but trust me, I’m ready for a Pokémon!

Professor Siwon Choi: Follow me then.
