Prompt: Kaixing spending the day with Kai's dogs!

TITLE: Meeting The Kids

"What if they don't like me?" Yixing asked nervously as he paced around the front door to his apartment; his hands shaking as he clutched a bag of treats. "Oh my God, Luhan, what if I'm not a good parental figure!?"

Next to him - hands on his hips going up to meet his forhead in passive frustration - his best friend sighed.

"Yixing," The other male said. "You are meeting Jongins dogs. Stop acting like you're meeting the kids of a middle aged divorced man who's looking to nest."

"You don' understand," The smaller male reasoned as he walked off down the hallway to retrieve his cellphone. "To Jongin, these dogs are his kids. When he talks about them his whole face lights up and his phone is full of pictures of them together."

He stopped as he safely pocketed his phone, Luhan standing behind him listening intently.

"This very well could be the determining factor in our relationship."

"Okay," Luhan exclaimed amused. "That's it. Stop running your head around in circles and relax. I am sure there is nothing you could do to mess this up. After all, you guys have been going out for... How long again?"

Yixing managed to talk as he went back to staring at his front door.

"Five months."

"Five months, see? He's put up with your 4D world for that long already, what could you possibly do now that would change that?"

The doorbell rang and both boys stilled.

"Just don't think of it as a death sentence," Luhan said with a smile. Yixing nodded and made to open the door. "Well, unless their rottweilers... If that's that case, you might want to book a hospital room now."

Yixing left his apartment - and Luhan - with knots forming over knots in his stomach.

"Ready to meet them?" Jongin asked as he and his boyfriend stood in front of his car door. The windows where tinted, giving Yixing no warning to what ever might come out at him. He was trying so hard to keep from shaking.

"Ready as i'll ever be," He spoke evenly. Yixing looked up to his boyfriend and saw the joy written all over his face. He too found the ability to smile as it hit him that no matter what, if they were in the care of someone as great as Jongin, his dogs would love Yixing as much as their owner loved him.

The smaller male watched as the tanned male opened the cars backdoor, and his eyes lit up as two little bundles of joy leaped out at him; tails wagging and tongues darting out to welcome him.

"Yixing," Jongin chuckled out. "Meet three of four reasons I wake up in the morning."

Yixing huddled down and giggled with glee as three fluffly poodles lapped at him, the treats in his hands going quickly as he divided them out to the friendly children. Then it hit him.

"Wait," he asked confused. "three of four reasons?"

Jongin smiled down at the sight of his boyfriend and his three kids.

"The fourth reason is you."

They were at the park when Jongin decided to get Yixing and himself some ice cream from a nearby vendor. They had been walking the dogs (whom Yixing had learned where named, Monggu, Jjanggu, and Jjangah) for more than an hour. Yixing had walked the youngest, who seemed the most attached to the chinese male, Jjangah, the entire time. The other two watched him curiously and moved the little guy over when they halted their steps to get a better look at Yixing.

As soon as Jongin stepped away Yixing crouched down; all three dogs sitting down in a line and watching him. 

"Okay," the chinese male said. "You guys know I like your daddy right?"

The dogs turned their heads to Jongin then back at him. Yixing had to keep from squealing at the cute display. The dogs really where smart.

"Right, so then you guys know that I'll be sticking around for a long time, right?"

To his surprise, and delight, all the dogs started to wag their tails frantically.

"Good, so then you guys are okay with it?"

Jongin turned back to his boyfriend and children - ice cream in hand - in time to see all three poodles jump on Yixing. He smiled as Yixing fell back, smile plastered on his face, with the dogs him all over.

"You know I think they like you more than me," Jongin said quietly as he leaned his head on Yixings shoulder.

They had stopped at a bench; sitting down and watching the three dogs chase each other around. If they had been playing tag, Monggu would be it as it seemed he was chasing around the other two poodles. Yixing was amazed at the little creatures and couldn't believe he'd thought they wouldn't like him.

"What makes you say that?"

Jongin shrugged, his smile still plastered on his face. "You speak their language somehow."

At that Yixing tilted his head thoughtfully.

"What makes you say that?"

"I saw you guys earlier," Jongin explained. Their eyes never leaving he dogs as they toppled over each other. "They were hanging onto every word you said. They're friendly dogs, but they've never taken to anyone like they did to you today."

Yixing let his boyfriends words sink in and his cheeks turned pink.

"You're so 4D, you can communicate with dogs."

Yixing frowned.

"Is that a problem?"

Jongin wrapped his arms suddenly around the smaller males frame; the obvious age difference suddenly very apparent as he embraced his hyung like a small child.

"Nope," He said joyfully. "It just means I have to keep you forever."

The poodles seemed to agree to the idea as they ran up to ambush the couple. 

Meeting the kids might be the best thing Yixing had done.
