The Meeting [Temporary Title]

Description

Everyone is born with an element.

He doesn't know which one he fits.

Everyone is born with a rank.

He doesn't know which one he fits.

And neither do they.

What am I?

Foreword

Prologue: The First Meeting

He squinted his eyes as the sun hit his face. Letting out a groan, he rubbed his eyes as he regained consciousness.

What’s going on?

As his vision cleared, he took in his surroundings. Two desks cluttered with papers and books. Another bed with sheets neatly tucked.

Where am I?

His eyes widened as he quickly took in his state. He checked his hands, his arms, his legs, his—he stopped as he quickly leaned forward. He moaned as he clutched his side, feeling a throbbing pain as a result of moving too fast. He lifted up his shirt to check the damage—but found nothing.

There wasn’t a mark on his body. There was no swelling, no bruises, no cuts. So then, why did it hurt?

He tried to ignore the pain, looking around once again. From where he was sitting, he tried to look out the window, but could only see clear skies and the sun glaring through. His composure relaxed seeing the calm skies.

“Yeah, I’ll check if he’s awake.”

Tao’s eyes darted towards the door. He could hear the jingling of keys, the person on the other side obviously trying to get in.

No, no, NO!

The noise stopped.
