The Adventure of Leslie Collins

Description

FOREWORD - IT'S RAINING - SO WHAT?

The rain still has not stopped pouring down and it seems that I am going to stay here for a long time. This is obviously not what I would expect from my last day of the so-called ‘vacation.’ Aunt Rita has told me this morning that it’s going to rain right in the middle of the day. I don’t want to believe her. For god sake, she’s right. She is not a medium or one of those people who have supernatural power to predict future happening. She is just my mom’s sister. And this big house where I’m staying for the week is her husband’s. This is a kind of loony family. If you don’t believe it at first, I can’t blame you. What kind of loony do you ask? Well, to start with, they separate all the belongings of the family. So the husband and the wife, they don’t stay under the same roof. The same goes off with their children. Cassie, my older cousin, has got her own apartment and David, Cassie’s brother, hasn’t got his own property yet, coz he is still busy finishing his study in Australia. And well, as this goes on, it turns out that I can choose where to stay among these places. Cool, isn’t it? I will tell you more about the loony aunty and the rest of the family. I don’t want to begin with all gossip. This is Bandung, Indonesia, after all, the land of Parahyangan, the place where I grew up and spent my childhood quite happily. However, I don’t really see this as a vacation coz secretly I’ve got tons of important agenda that I can’t tell anyone. Except here, in my story.

Why would I write this notes / story in the first place? Well, that’s because I am in a dangerous mission, and, truth is, the only chance that people will read this story, is when I’m already dead. Why are you smiling? No, I’m not kidding. I’m serious like hell here. Well, yeah, actually there’s a chance that I’m going to be successful in my mission but with the word dangerous I used prior to this line, death is more likely to be the outcome of this adventure.

So this is my first chapter, bear with me here. No, I’m not with a bear. D’oh. I’m out girls. Gotta face the rain, otherwise it will never be started anyway.
