Sehun had woken up in the middle of the night, turning on the bedside lamp, panting and grasping the bedsheets in his fists. Another nightmare. He took a deep breath, and lay back down, trying to sleep. But his mind stayed stubbornly and indignantly awake, and it wasn't long before he'd begun to hear scratching and scampering from outside the hotel room. 

He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep with the lamp on, however, as soon as he turned it off, the dark, shadowy figures and chill that appeared in his dream began to haunt him again. Every shadow  that the moon cast on the tree outside the hotel window danced around in his room, lurking and almsot appearing to reach and brush against him before disappearing. 

The boy in the bed next to him stirred, stirred again, and sleepily opened his eyes.
