Taeyeon is my SNSD bias ever since. D.O. on the other hand, is not. Truthfully, I'm a Baekyeon shipper because Baekhyun is my EXO bias. But thinking more about it, I cannot see Baekyeon as a couple. I don't know. I just can't imagine that. Maybe because I see Baekhyun more as a fanboy than an actual boyfriend.

Anyway, I jumped to D.O. not only because of the height compatibility with Taeyeon. Whenever I think of Taeyeon/D.O. couple (I don't know what they call this couple nowadays. I'll stick to Kyungtae for now), I get a lot of story ideas. In my mind, they have the perfect chemistry.

D.O. has this manly image that greatly complements Taeyeon's cute side and that a four-year younger age difference issue cannot spoil. Note that this is a big deal for me—dating someone younger, I mean. Please don't ask me why, I don't know the answer either. Say, I could pick Luhan (I seriously considered this) because his age is closer. But his personality did not quite fit the character I have in my mind for this story. He has a pretty face, sure (too pretty, if you ask me), but in my opinion, he is too polite to comfortably date someone older (especially in Korea where seniority is important) and as popular as SNSD. I could also pick Sehun because obviously, he's close to Taeyeon and always gets her as his partner during collabs. But I'm not really a fan of his voice—his normal talking voice. I will not elaborate for the sake of not getting bashed by Sehun fans. Suffice to say that I need a leading man that can inspire me to write a lot of scenes and leave me with something to improve in his personality.

I can't tell you enough why I picked D.O. You'll just have to read this story. But one thing I'm certain, his chemistry with Taeyeon is phenomenal—at least in my mind, it is. I really hope you will think the same way as you read through the story.

Do I even need to talk about Taeyeon? She's beautiful and perfectly imperfect. The story will evolve in her point of view. Her personal insights and thoughts will purely come from me but I will try my best not to be too far off-based (though that might be close to impossible since I don't know her personally).

I'm starting my characters with their current personality as I know it. What I know might be inaccurate because I'm only relying on the articles and interviews I've seen. Sometimes I will be assuming things and will be adding details as I go (since this is a fiction, and I am the writer, I'm taking on the power to write whatever I want). I will also be throwing flaws and attitudes to the characters along the way just for the sake of taking the story forward and making it interesting. So to all K-pop fans out there, please don't bash me if I write something about your bias that isn't good. If I've put him in a scene and he reacted poorly, that doesn't mean that I think he will react like that in real life. That only means that I want him to react like that because my story needs him to do exactly that.
