Life as Me

Description

After striking a deal with Kris, you're forced to help him by participating in an "undercover mission". Your assignment is simply known as The Group, a former bully gang leadered by Kai. As you spy on them to get the information needed, you're required to keep a diary detailing every encounter with them. Chaos, romance, and more chaos ensues.

[the characters]

You, You

Back in Japan, you were the most popular girl. Now, back home to complete your second year in high school, you're nothing more but an outcast, a fact that bothers you because it reminds you of the loser you used to be before moving to Tokyo, a past you'd promised to leave behind.

The ex-bully, Kai

The definition of a snob, he's known as the leader in his group of friends: Baekhyun, Sulli, Krystal, and the only nice one, Xiumin. They used to torment the entire school, but suddenly, they changed and simply disconnected from the rest of the students. It's still a mystery whether he regrets his past and why he stopped, and that's something you'll find out.

The golden boy, Kris

Nice, friendly, and smart, he's the favorite third year student of school. And not only that, but the school president, the school newspaper's editor in charge, the basketball club's leader, and officially the best-looking guy in school. Even though you hate him on the outside, you really appreciate him and all the times he goes all the way to help you.

[and more...]

Hey, this is the writer. First, I want to thank everybody who's currently reading. I also want to ask for your feedback on my writing, on the idea... even on the chapter lenghths. I want my readers (if there even are any) to participate with me on my first time writing a fanfic in AFF. Once again, thank you. Enjoy!

Foreword

If there's one thing you're sure of is that you at writing.

So when the famous Kris approached you three days ago to ask you for help on an article, of course you'd decline for the sake of both's reputation. However, that guy defined 'stubborn'. And he didn't take your 'no' as an answer.

"You don't even know me," you whispered with a book in hand. You were huddled in the library, hiding behind a shelf. But he'd still somehow managed to find you.

"Well, given the fact that you're the new girl, of course I won't know you," Kris loudly snorted, not caring to disrupt anybody's reading. Not that there was a single soul in the library other than you two and the librarian, anyways. It was lunch time.

"Could we discuss this later?" you murmured, focusing back on the book. "I would like to keep reading." Truth be told, you didn't even know what the book was about. You didn't even like reading. But it was the only excuse for you to a) Avoid Kris, and b) Be in the library, which you clearly needed, given the fact that you didn't have any friends yet.

Back in Japan, hundreds of students would be lining up to eat with you. And you could've still been incredibly popular in your new school. But you knew most of the students. And even though they didn't remember you, you were still scared that someone would recognize you. And that completely quenched your social skills.

"What are you even reading?" Kris asked, trying to get a glance of the book.

"Uh..." you stammered.

Without hesitation, Kris scooted closer and snatched the book away from you. Your cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment. What if you'd picked out an incredibly weird book? Your fears were confirmed after Kris burst out into loud cackles.

"Shh, respect the library's rules," you hissed, trying to sound nonchalant. But you were dying with worry on the inside.

After a stern gaze from the librarian, he finally shut up. He returned you the book. "This is a dictionary."

A dictionary. You examined the pages once again. Sure enough, there was a list of words and their definitions. Hmm, no wonder it was so heavy, you thought.

"You're right, I shouldn't interrupt you," Kris begun, trying to contain his laughter. "You were on the words starting with C, which is the most interesting part of the book."

You glared. If there was one thing you hated, it was when people made fun of you. "I was just trying to enrich my vocabulary. And, anyways, I'll be the one laughing when you can't define the word..." You searched through the opened page for the weirdest word. "C-con... connoisseur."

"Actually, I know what that is. It's an expert on something, primarily on the arts. Also an art critique," Kris smartly responded, giving you a boyish grin.

You stared blankly at him, shocked, for a while. Snapping back to normal, you tried to smile. "Yeah, I knew what that was. I was just testing you."

"Right," Kris replied, clearly not believing you.

"It's true!" you exclaimed, trying to defend what was left of your dignity.

He didn't bother you on the topic anymore, though. Instead, he returned back to pestering you. "Come on, if you help me, I'll help you out."

"Thanks for the offer, but I don't need your help," you informed him, flipping through the dictionary's pages.

"If you help me out, I'll let you eat with my friends and I in lunch," Kris tentively yet gently offered, trying to make it clear that he wasn't trying to offend you.

That caught your attention.

"Wouldn't that be better than being here in the library?" he asked, his lips curling up in a smile. Somehow, he'd figured out how much you hated that place.

"Oh, you're good," you murmured, narrowing your eyes at him.

And that, dear readers, is how you agreed to help Kris.
