“Dad… did you tell her yet?” Heather's blonde head peeked out from the door. In her right hand clasped were folded papers. Her knuckles turning white from the grip she had on them.

 

“Tell me what?” I asked stepping back to give the two a curious look. They had something up their sleeves. Since I stepped into the house they were oddly nice. Especially Heather, she was the evil little sister anyone could not wish for. She hugged me today... something was definitely up.

 

My Dad gave a sheepish look as he got up from his seat, taking off his glasses and fluttering with his hair. “As you know Heather has been getting a 3.5 GPA this whole year." I nodded and Heather shifted excitingly. "So as a gift I got her something that she's been wanting for a long time, but the thing is," Again he stuck his hand into his pepper hair, "I am going to be out of town-”

 

“Dad..” I said in a warning tone. "Come on spit it out."

 

Heather now fully stepped in with the papers in front of her face covering her wide smile. “I told him if he could get me tickets to this convention of sorts.” She shifted from foot to foot.

 

“You mean your Korean pop stuff?” I asked bluntly before crossing my arms.

 

My Dad nodded the same time as Heather, "Like I said, I'm going to be out of town and the next adult is…”

 

“No way you are not dragging me to this… this cult!” There was no way I was going to spend my break before College starts again at some... gathering of fangirls.

 

“Katie!” My dad said

 

About to open my mouth I caught Heather in my vision. She looked broken. Her blue eyes were casted down, and I could tell she was trying not to cry. My mouth fluttered close, I mean she already bought the tickets and most likely booked the hotel also. She really liked this Korean pop get up, and a convention couldn't be that bad. I probably get some sister brownie points or something... I mean if she liked something this much the extent to buy fifty dollar tickets and wait endlessly to see these groups she liked... “I guess…” I trailed off before running a hand through my dark brown hair, “I guess I could go, it can't be so bad…”

 

“Ah!” Heather screeched before she flung herself on me, “ I can’t believe you said yes! Thank you thank you! I love you! SARANGHAEYO!”

 

I cringed at the terrible Korean at the end but I patted her on the back before she let go. “You, Alexia, Lynn and I are going to have an amazing time!”

 

“Whoa friends?!” My eyes shot to my Dad he just smiled again not trying to catch my eyes.

 

In that instant her two best friends Alexia and Lynn busted in, "Did she say?!" Lynn called, with a cheer from Heather the three girls group hugged.

 

“We're going Hallyu!” They shouted together before they dragged me into this hug fest.

 

"No, no, hey I didn't sign up for this!" I shouted loudly as I was surrounded by three star struck girls and they pranced around me. They all began to jump up and down dragging me with them. Wait, what the hell was Hallyu?!

 

What did I just say yes to!? I looked up at my Dad with wide eyes filled of anger. All I could do was bring my hand to my neck and made the comical illusion of the slit throat then pointed to him. He just held his hands up before giving me thumbs up. The sound of cheering girls and giggles filled my ears, I couldn't help but to hold back the shudder that creeped up my spine.

This was going to be a long weekend.
