Control

Control - Leo

— Leo’s POV —

I sat at my desk, flipping my hood over my head to shield the bright light from my eyes. School was never my favorite thing, but I had to go to fit in with society. Not wanting to be too different from others, I tried to hide my curse the best that I could.

Laying my head on my arm, I closed my eyes trying to get some sleep in before class. The scraping of the chairs against the tile floor seemed to echo in my head. Opening my eyes, my eyes darted around to see who was making that awful noise.

But there, sat a girl, the suspect, she was wearing a white dress that hit right above her knees making her look just like an angel. I couldn’t help but lift my head while her hair hung over her shoulders while she worked. The bright light bounced off of her dress, hitting me in the eyes but I had a hard time looking away.

Through the class I couldn’t see anyone else but her. The annoying school bell cut through the quiet air, before everyone started packing up and heading to their next class.

I watched her carefully, packing her things into her backpack and pulling it up onto her shoulders before lifting her hair from under the straps. I couldn’t think of anything else but to follow her. Grabbing my books, I held them under my arm while I trailed behind her.

She walked down the hall, her skirt hitting the back of her legs. I just stood there and blinked before running after her. Determined to know who she was, I felt something start inside of me. With my stomach growling, I knew it was hungry for more than food. I was hungry for her, for her blood. The way she moved, how healthy she looked, just everything about her made me want to hold her and see how she tasted.

Hiding behind every corner, she walked around with confidence. Pushing open the doors that lead outside, I followed her, wondering where she was going. Once the light hit me, I felt a little odd but none the less, my curiosity pushed me to follow her.

She sat on a bench, pulling out some books, I found a hiding place under a shady tree. Uncapping a pen and drawing in the corner of her paper, I watched her as she hung over her lined paper like she was feeding off of it.

Looking so majestic, I couldn’t help myself I felt so thirsty for her, but I couldn’t. I knew what happened to the other beautiful girls that I fell for, they all wound up in a cemetery under a head stone. My stomach grumbled louder, in order to conceal my hunger I ed my sleeve and rolled it up to my elbow, then I dug my teeth into my own arm and watched her write line after line. Drinking my own blood I started getting headache, so I watched the wound on my arm heal before my eyes before I rolled down the sleeve.

Peeking around the tree, I saw her looking in my direction, I quickly moved behind the trunk of the tree before wiping off my mouth with my hand. Wiping it on the grass my heart started to beat faster and faster, I heard the grass squeak under her feet.

"Excuse me." Her sweet voice called to me, I raised my head to her sweet call.

"Y-Yes?" I stuttered while my stomach growled louder.

"I just happened to notice you looking at me, I was wondering if something was wrong." You smiled at me and that is what made me freeze, all I could do was shake my head.

"Okay" You said awkwardly, "My name is _______ by the way."

"Leo." I replied softly.

"A-Are you feeling okay? You look a little pale." You pointed out.

"I-I’m just hungry." I retorted softly

"Do you want to get some lunch with me then? I was heading that way." You boldly offered.

"T-That would be great!" I stood up to my feet, "But I will buy." I offered.

"Okay, you choose where we go then."

That simple conversation and offer started a long and beautiful friendship between the two of you. Eating together for lunch and getting together for homework, you two became the best of friends although Leo knew that he wanted to be something more with you.

”_______-ah?” Leo asked sitting at your coffee table while the two of you did homework. “Remember when we first met, what were you writing about?” He asked shyly.

You blushed a little and pulled out the ratty old notebook with the binding almost broke, “Why don’t you see for yourself. I’m going to make some snacks, did you want some?”

"Yeah, sure." Leo said while you slid the notebook over to him before heading to the kitchen. Taking the notebook into his hands, he flipped the frayed cover over and looked at the blue ink that was neatly written over the page.

The beautiful boy sat across from me, his skin was a little pale but he wore black, he was full of opposites, his eyes would change and he would always be hungry, but I couldn’t help but think that there was something more to him the meets the eye. He kept his beautiful changing eyes on me, they made me fall for him more, the white outline was prominent in his eyes but the kindness would stay.

Leo read your beautiful words, while you worked in the kitchen preparing some apples for the two of you. Glancing up at him, the knife in your hand went through the apple but when a shot of pain came from your hand, you yelped in pain.

Leo’s head quickly snapped around to you, seeing tears falling from your eyes and you holding your left hand, he got to his feet and put the book on the couch before coming to your side.

"What’s wrong?" He asked running into the kitchen.

"I-I-I c-c-cup my h-h-hand." You whimpered, but Leo just gulped, this meant that you were bleeding, which meant that he would see your blood. How was he going to hold himself back? But he couldn’t not help you.

"Come on" He wrapped his arms around your shoulders and moved you into your bathroom.

"This might hurt a little." He said turning on the water to a warmer temperature. Taking your hands he placed them under the water, you let out a hiss due to the pain while your fingers curled up to protect your wound.

"We need to clean it up, trust me." He said carefully unrolled your fingers and watched the blood run from your hands. His stomach grumbled while he his lips seeing your delicious blood run from from your hands.

Once he saw a scab forming, he moved your hand out from under the water and placed it in a towel. Carefully, he lifted you up and placed you on the counter without any problem, resting your hand on your lap, he took some gauze and wrapped it around the palm of your hand.

"Does it hurt a lot?" He questioned softly, wrapping your hand carefully.

"No, it is kind of throbbing." You respond carefully, he nodded his head gently before grabbing another layer and wrapping your hand up in that.

"How’s that?" He asked looking up from your wound to see your eyes.

Locking your eyes with his, you saw a red color in your eyes, but it soon drained into a cool blue.

"Better." You smiled softly leaning in and kissing his cheek.

"W-What was that for?" He questioned tilting his head slightly.

"I-I like you, that is what you do with people that you like." You looked down at your carefully wrapped hand. "Also for saying thank you for taking care of me."

"You’re welcome" He smiles helping you off of the counter. "Should we go back and finish up our homework?" He asks.

"Sure." You smiled before he placed his hand on your shoulder making you stop in your tracks.

”_________?” He turned you around, your eyes met his now dark blue and purple eyes. Leo leaned in and pecked you on the lips. “Is that what you do when you love someone?”

"Ne~"
