In a society where you can literally look down at your wrist and know exactly how many years, or minutes you have left to live. It leads to Chorong being fearful of everything, after all she knew what would happen if she let her self slip up. 

Chorong lives through other people, which gives her the fears she has. She recalls all the people she knew, and their lives in great clairty. 

How will Chorong get over her fear, and actually start living?
