Somi has been living in her own family’s murder mystery for years without knowing. Her ‘step-father’ has been trying to cover up for her about the miseries, only to have the case be re-opened again when their enemy the ‘Choi’ family makes a few mistakes.
Living life has never really been the easiest thing for Somi, including her Coronary Heart Disease. She’s never known her real parents and then an even worse problem pops up. As a matter of fact, two problems.
ONE: Her heart contracting is becoming difficult.
TWO: The school’s intelligent bully Choi Minho has started to pick on her.
This is going to be one sorrowful ride as the two discover their true pasts and the ways around love.
Foreword
“Hey kiddo!”
He was casually leaning against his PRADO hood, his making his keys loop around his finger a few times before throwing it up in the air and catching it. His dark golden like hair was combed back in a rushed manner and his brown eyes were twinkling with the same childishness I saw everyday.
*He’s a cute adult though…he’s not too old…twenty-eight years old isn’t too bad*
“Lee Teuk –shii” I addressed him lightly, letting him take my bag for me and fit it inside the boot of his car.
“Aigoo: call me appa, Lee-teukie-appa feels very sad when you call him Lee Teuk-shii” he pouted as he reached up to pull down the lid and come round to the front of the driver’s seat.
I followed to buckle myself in the backseat.
“Can you say it?” he asked, adjusting the front mirror slightly to meet my eye with his.
“Say what?”
“Lee Teuk-appa”
“Uhm…”
“You’re making Lee Teukie-appa saad,” he sang in a pouty voice as he started up the car.
“A-a-appa” I mumbled playing with my fingers in embarrassment.
Lee-Teuk wasn’t really my father so I guess it made sense to not call him Lee-Teuk appa. It seemed embarrassing to call him appa, since I’ve only created a relationship that represented close friends, not father and daughter. Not that I’d think Lee Teuk would be embarrassing as my dad. Lee Teuk could be the best dad in the world.
He could cook delicious meals.
He would pick you up from school if you were really tired and didn’t want to walk home.
If you needed help on homework, he’d be patient and help.
If you needed cheering up, he was there.
“Who’s appa?” he pretended not to hear.
“You…Lee Teuk”
“Again? What appa?”
“L-lee Teuk-appa” I muttered in an inaudible voice. He seemed to be satisfied though and his pout snapped into a smile.
“How was school today?”
“Good”
“Anything interesting?”
“Ani…”
“Wae? Ani? There must have been something interesting…what classes did you have?”
“Uhm…science…math…English…P.E”
“Oooh, say something in English” he suddenly squealed. I couldn’t help but smile. He always seemed so enthusiastic.
“Depends on what you want me to say”
“Uhm…say hello”
“Annyong”
“Aniiiiii…in English”
“Hello”
“AIGOO: My daughter is so good in English!”
“That was only one word”
“Ok, ok…how about…cute?”
“Cute”
“AIGOO: You DO know a lot!”
I smiled, at his reaction to my simple English words.
*Uwah…he’s so enthusiastic*
I looked out the window to admire the view while it lasted.
ANGST TEASER:
“P-please come get m-me tod-a-ay, a-a-a-a-appa”
“Mwoh? What happened?” his voice switched from happy to worried.
“P-please” I squeaked shakily, tears running down my cheeks uncontrollably.
“I’ll come get you quickly…but once I do, tell me what happened, ok?”
