If Only He Knew

If Only He Knew

The sound of racing footsteps interrupted Kyungsoo's dreaming state. It took him several moments to be able to detect whether he was still sleeping or not - the obstreperous thud of a closing closet door gave him his answer. "What're you doing, Jongin?" he grumbled with a droned voice. He sat up in their shared bed, the cleanly scented bed covers cascading down his front and resting in a bundle around his waist.

"Shirt, pants.. Oh! Tie!" Jongin carried on in a ramble rather than answering Kyungsoo's question. Kyungsoo may as well hadn't even bothered speaking.

"Tie? Since when do you wear a tie?" It wasn't until then that Kyungsoo had realised his husband was already suited up, which was contridicting to the usual Jongin he'd known for years. It was largely irregular for any being to be so energetic and lively on a Thursday morning, and even more bizarre from the notorious bed-hibernator himself. Kyungsoo watched as Jongin fixated on his reflection, hands busily fumbling with the pale blue tie around his neck. Kyungsoo's gaze turned pitiful before he jumped out of bed and scurried over to Jongin, despite being amused by his struggle. He would've gladly continued laying about in bed laughing at his husband but Jongin clearly appeard to be in a rush, and Kyungsoo was no doubt curious. "You dummy." Kyungsoo let out a faint chuckle as he took control of the tie assembling. "Why are you all dressed up?" There was a softened tone in Jongin's eyes when they rested on Kyungsoo's. His world seemed to slow down, and it was only them two. Their days always started that way - exchanged glances of silent admiration, and warm embraces that lingered until their hunger pulled them out of bed.

Once the tie was dealt with, Jongin looped his arms around his lover's waist and drew him close. "I have some news." Kyungsoo instinctively wrapped his arms behind his husband's nape and continued to smile up at him, his curiousity peaked more than ever (with also a hint of panic). "Late last night my mobile rang, and it was my publicist. Anyway, long story short, I got booked for a photoshoot."

"A photoshoot? That's great! Aw, I'm so happy for you!"

"But-"

"But.. what?"

Jongin chomped down on his lower lip with a trace of hesitation to continue. He rose his hands and cupped Kyungsoo's face delicately. "It's in the Philippines."

"Th-The Philippines? You're kidding right?" Kyungsoo's larger eyes stared back into Jongin's smaller ones, almost like a silent plea to see a trace of humour in his eyes, but that spark never came.

"I'm serious, dear. But it's a great opportunity, I couldn't reject it. It's only for 3 days. It does being away from you, though. But I knew you'd be supportive of me, and you'd expect me to go." Jongin sealed his case by planting a lingering kiss on Kyungsoo's forehead, making Kyungsoo's heart immediately swoon. He closed his eyes in a sign of content and slowly nodded. "When's your plane leaving?"

"Mm.. 10am."

Kyungsoo's eyes shot open. "10? That's so early! Why is this so sudden?"

Letting out a gentle sigh, Jongin slowly drew his hands away from Kyungsoo's cheeks and proceeded to pack his bag. "The original guy they wanted wasn't able to do it, so my publicist rushed to get me into the slot. I know this , Kyungsoo, but you'll be good while I'm gone." Jongin glanced up from his bag and showed Kyungsoo another one of his cunning smiles. Kyungsoo returned his own bashful smile before he peered down at his lack of attire, which happened to be only a pair of loose sweat pants (definitely not belonging to Jongin, gosh no). He then quickly glanced at the clock resting on the bedside table. 8:57am There was no time for him to shower. "Let me quickly get dressed and I'll you to the airport, yes?"

Jongin frowned and violently shook his head. "Babe, you need sleep. No, no, I prefer you stay here and get some more sleep. You were up quite late and-"

"I'm going." Kyungsoo interrupted with a cheeky grin on his face.

"Excuse you, how dare you speak over me?" Jongin scoffed and shook his head in dismay as he tried his hardest to hide a grin of his own. "You seem to be forgetting who is in charge here."

"You seem to be forgetting your honorifics, sir who is 1 year younger than me." Kyungsoo playfully pounced onto Jongin, making him fall back onto their bed. The elder's fingers made their way along Jongin's ribcage - one of Jongin's weakest tickling points - earning a fit of shrieks and yelps from the dancer beneath him.

"Get off me, fatty! This is unacceptable! Hurry up and get dressed!"

***

The wedded couple had arrived at the airport with time to spare. Not wanting to stray away from their morning tradition, they agree to share some breakfast together. Neither of them had a big enough appetite for a sufficient meal; Jongin was too excited, while Kyungsoo simply had no desire to eat. They both sipped at their coffees, which was more than disappointing in taste. "Mine has way too much sugar." Jongin shot out before taking another miserable sip of his beverage.

"Really? Mine just tastes bitter." Kyungsoo stared down at the cup held in his hands with his lower lip jutted out.

"My coffees are way better." Jongin announced proudly. Airport food was never the cheapest. With such steep prices you'd expect atleast decent quality. Jongin wasn't exactly a food whisperer, but Kyungsoo would no doubt agree he prefered Jongin's coffee.

"Coffees are all you know how to make. Need I recall the incident last week?"

"That was your fault, okay!"

"Okay, Jongin. Okay." Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and took another slow sip of his coffee, earning a nudge from Jongin soon after.

"You're so mean to me sometimes." Jongin slumped his shoulders. "Can you watch my coffee for a second? I need to head to the toilet. Plane toilets scare me."

Kyungsoo simply laughed, causing Jongin to smile brightly and quickly scurry away. "That kid.." Kyungsoo mumbled under his breath as he watched the ravenette speed away. As soon as Jongin left, Kyungsoo felt a ray of panic. He glanced over at the empty seat opposite him, and wondered how he was ever going to be able to cope being without him for 3 whole days.

"Mama!" a childish shriek broke out from behind Kyungsoo, and before he could turn around, he felt tiny arms wrap around his torso. Kyungsoo tensed his muscles and glanced over his shoulder with eyes widened abit more than usual. His eyes rested on a young boy, no older than 6, who looked just as shocked as Kyungsoo. He couldn't manage to even utter an apology. He quickly withdrew his hands and ran away just as fast as he appeared.

Kyungsoo eyes followed the direction of the child until he was entirely out of sight. Taking on the motherly role most of his life, the 'mama' or 'mum' term was never startling, but there was something different about that certain occurence. Perhaps it was the affection. It pulled at Kyungsoo's heart strings.

Jongin slipped into his chair almost breathless, as if he ran. "It was filthy in there. I couldn't wait to get out."

"You're so gay." Kyungsoo murmured without departing his gaze from the young boy's trail.

Jongin parted his lips to form some comeback, but he was more curious as to what Kyungsoo was looking at. "What is it?" Jongin's eyes followed Kyungsoo's but he saw nothing. "What're you looking at?"

Kyungsoo drew his eyes back to Jongin. "A little boy called me 'mama' while you were gone. He came up to me from behind. He must've mistaken me as his mother or something."

"Oh.. really?" Jongin took a moment to skim his eyes over Kyungsoo's features before he let out a laugh. "Well, you do look like a girl."

"Excuse you-"

"I mean, your hair.. and your legs. And your hips. And your eyes. And your lips. No, you're just a girl, okay." Jongin took a sip of his sweet coffee as Kyungsoo eyed him in a bemused manner. He laughed through his coffee cup before he rested it down again. "But you're my girl."

***

"Do you really have to go?"

"It's only 3 days. And I promise I'll call you." Jongin squeezed Kyungsoo's hand.

Kyungsoo's eyes saddened. There was nothing he could say. He didn't want Jongin to leave, but he didn't want to hold him back from an opportunity. "Just.. don't hit on anyone, alright?"

Jongin could only laugh and nod his head before planting a delicate peck on his husband's cheek. Kyungsoo threw his arms around Jongin to held him as close as possible. He loved the warm feeling Jongin gave him. His hugs weren't like anyone elses. They were his refuge when he was sad, or scared. And now he was having to live without his refuge. He didn't know if he'd be able to cope. In what felt like mere moments, people boarded onto the plane. "Kyungsoo.. I need to go."

"N-No.."

"Kyungsoo, you'll be fine, okay?" Jongin pulled out of the hug to cup Kyungsoo's face and show a reassuring smile.

"Okay. I love you, be safe." Kyungsoo captured a quick kiss, despite Jongin's immense distaste of public displays of affection. But rather than feeling embarrassed or repulsed, Jongin returned the kiss, which was a clear enough sign to Kyungsoo that the seperation was just as hard for him.

"I love you too." Jongin gripped onto his bag and gradually distanced himself from Kyungsoo until it was his turn to hand in his ticket. Kyungsoo simply watched as Jongin slipped further and further away. He had the strongest urge to cling to Jongin and make him stay, but he knew he had to be strong.

Kyungsoo walked out the airport with his head hung low the entire time. Once reaching the exit, he heard the same 'mama' cry, except it wasn't directed at him but someone else. He snapped his head to the direction of the outburst and watched as the same younger kid threw himself into the arms of a woman. He can't help but admire them. He admired their bond, and how a mother is able to shower their offspring in so much love and affection. The mother's eyes gleamed with pure admiration. Her child was her world.

Kyungsoo didn't leave the woman's appearance unnoticed either. Her hair was a modern layered bowl cut, and the young male could only furrow his eyebrows. That's.. what I look like? I need to get a haircut.

***

Kyungsoo tossed about in his bed but couldn't seem to gain enough comfort, despite it being over an hour of him laying in bed. "This is pointless." Kyungsoo grunted as he lazily hoisted himself out of bed and dragged his feet into the bathroom. Showers always gave Kyungsoo immense comfort. The feeling of warm water beating down on his bare skin was soothing, almost therapeutic.

Other thoughts of a less calming sort flooded into Kyungsoo's mind as he stood under the shower head - if he wasn't mistaken, that was the destination Jongin and Kyungsoo shared a heated love session. "Oh god, no.." Kyungsoo rested his forehead against the cool marble surface and closed his eyes tightly in an attempt to block the thoughts out, but they just wouldn't leave.

The way Jongin's lips clasped around Kyungsoo's girth was an image that never failed to arouse the newly wed. Jongin's plump rosy lips against Kyungsoo's milky skin was simply perfect. The vibrations that would resonate Kyungsoo's member each time Jongin would moan.. The hungry, desperate lapping of Jongin's tongue against Kyungsoo's underside.. The bruises that would remain on Kyungsoo's hipbones the following day..

Before Kyungsoo knew it, he was already midway through his hardened length shamelessy, continuously rutting his hips forward as he played the events through his head again. He moaned against the marble before he slumped limply against the cool surface. ".."

Kyungsoo felt exhausted. He proceeded to clean himself before he stepped out of the shower, wrapped a towel securely around his waist and dragged his feet back to his room - alone. He slowly made his way to his closet before he opened the doors and browsed through the clothing. Too fancy.. Too uncomfortable.. Too hot.. "Ah.." Kyungsoo's eyes rested on a shirt that had been tossed on the ground. He bent down and instantly indicated it belonged to Jongin. Kyungsoo gave the shirt a quick sniff; it wasn't exactly clean, but it was endurable. Jongin had a scent that was impossible to put into words, and somehow, Kyungsoo found it comforting. He flung his towel off and slipped Jongin's shirt on. "Surely Jongin wouldn't mind.." Kyungsoo didn't even bother wearing underwear. He slipped under the bed covers and coiled himself up, encasing himself in a bubble of Jongin's scent. It made Kyungsoo feel closer to Jongin, despite him being on the other side of the world.

***

The following morning, Kyungsoo paced the kitchen of his and Jongin's new apartment and couldn't help but feel an emptiness with not having Jongin to cook for. Would it be too early to call? He didn't tell me what time his shoot was.. He's probably too busy. Kyungsoo distracted himself by cooking a meal of his own before slumping onto the couch and watching television. One mouthful.. Two mouthfuls.. Three mouthfuls.. "I'm full."

Tempation kicks in. He just couldn't help himself.

Kyungsoo dug out his phone and called Jongin. The call tone seemed to carry on for ages before he was able to get an answer.

"Jongin? Babe?" Kyungsoo's voice rang out with a hightened pitch, almost in desperation to hear Jongin's voice.

"Baby.~" Jongin's voice chimed happily through the phone.

Kyungsoo smiled brightly to himself, and though he couldn't see Jongin, he could tell by the way that he was speaking that he was smiling too. "Did you sleep well, sweetheart? Ah, I miss you so much."

"I-- m-- too---"

Kyungsoo furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Babe, what was that? I couldn't quite understand you." Before getting a response, the call died and Kyungsoo's heart instantly sank in disappointment. Mere seconds later, a message came through under Jongin's name.

'I'm sorry, babe! Must be poor reception. I said that I missed you too, haha. I'll call you when I have a better signal. I'm about to head to my shoot now so I'll catch you later. I love you!'

The brief message made Kyungsoo's heart smile. Jongin was shere perfection in Kyungsoo's eyes, and no matter what he said, he always knew how to make Kyungsoo smile. If only he knew. Kyungsoo's thumbs hurriedly beat down against the touch screen keyboard as he typed out his reply. In the midst of his typing, a call came through.

"Hello?" Kyungsoo asked with the same tone he carried previously.

"Soo hyung!" Sehun droned, and Kyungsoo couldn't help but feel abit disappointed. A part of him secretly wished it was Jongin.

"Oh, hey. What's going on with you?"

"Nothing much, just chilling with Luhan. Are you with Jongin?"

"Mm, not exactly. He's in the Philippines."

"Whoa, seriously?"

"Yeah, he has a photoshoot."

"Tch, right, a photoshoot." Sehun laughed from the other end.

Kyungsoo frowned and straightened his posture in his seat. "What are you smirking for, hm?"

"Ya know."

"No, I don't. Care to fill me in?"

"Did Jongin ever have a bachelor party before you two got married?"

"Well.." Kyungsoo fell back into the couch. "No, not that I'm aware of."

"Precisely. Now's his chance." Sehun deadpanned, seemingly with complete emotional detachment.

Sehun was Sehun. He always peered things from that sort of view. Kyungsoo tried his best to not seem too effected. Sehun and Kyungsoo carried on talking about random topics, but through all the chatter, Kyungsoo's mind was still on one topic.

During a moment of silence, Kyungsoo used the opportunity to bring up the topic again. "Sehun-ah.. Do you think Jongin would see me as an adequate lover?"

There's a silence on the other end, almost like a trace of hesitation to answer. "Well, I'm not Jongin, I wouldn't know. But guys need excitement, Soo."

"I am very exciting, mind you. I'm open to very things, like when-"

"Too much information, hyung." Sehun whined, bringing out a laugh from Kyungsoo. The laugh was almost painful in a way. Kyungsoo hoped Sehun was wrong. Kyungsoo only wished to be fulfilling. If only he knew.

***

"Brilliant work, Jongin-ssi!"

Jongin smiled bashfully at the praise he was being greeted with. He felt far too fortunate to even be granted such a prestigious job, and he was just glad he didn't disappoint. He wasn't exactly the tallest male model standing on set, and that was subconsciously a large insecurity he was carrying during the entire shoot, but the praise from fellow models with years of experience brough great comfort.

"We're all heading out. Wanna join us?" a male model called over to Jongin as they all began to leave the set.

It took a moment or two for Jongin to process the invitation. He stared blankly at the youthful model before gazing over his shoulder to assure he was the person being referred to. The male model let out a laugh as he took a step closer to Jongin. "I'm taking to you, Jongin-ssi. Just come out, it'll be fun. We can show you all the hot spots."

Jongin averted his gaze from the model and glaced at the mini crew of models that hovered closely behind. Seemingly enough, there would be no trouble, so why not go along?

Work was over. Time to play.

Drinks got pushed toward Jongin from all angles, but each time they were declined. He was too busily absorbed into his phone. "Jongin, share a drink with us."

"Ah, that's alright. I'm not much of a drinker." Jongin politely waved the drink away with a chuckle before dropping his head back to his phone. His eyes rested on his wallpaper; a collage of random couple pictures of Jongin and Kyungsoo.

"What're you staring at, huh?" a semi intoxicated model snatched the phone out of Jongin's grasp before cooing over the wallpaper. "How cuuute." The response peaked the curiousity of others within the group. Jongin's phone was then passed around, each all giving awed sounds.

"Alright, alright, that's enough you guys. That's my husband. His name is Kyungsoo." Jongin smiled shyly as he took his phone back.

"Is he okay with you being here?" a female model asked before she took a sip of her beverage.

"Ofcourse. He misses me alot, I'm sure. But yeah, he's always been supportive."

"So he'd want you to enjoy yourself, right? Surely he wouldn't mind you drinking." the male model would initiated the gather pushed a shot towards Jongin, a lopsided grin dressing his face as he did. "Take it."

***

Kyungsoo rushed to his phone as he hears his ringtone chime through the spacious apartment. "Don't hang up, don't hang up, don't hang up!" he chanted as he hunted for his phone. Once reaching it, he furrowed his eyebrows when the caller was named 'private number'.

"Uhm, hello?"

"K-Kyungsoo-yah.." the other end blabbered.

"Who's this? Jongin-ah?"

"You can't remember my name? Tch." the male hiccupped, and by this stage Kyungsoo had already deciphered that the caller was not Jongin. "Was I that easy to forget? You ."

"Uhm.. I think you have the wrong number."

"Y-You emotionally wrecked me. How dare yooou." the other end continued to slurr. And then it clicked.

"Baekhyun hyung?"

Months prior to Jongin and Kyungsoo's first date, Baekhyun and Kyungsoo had several flings. They had tried to form some sort of relationship, but it never meshed well. It never felt right. They hadn't exactly ended on correct terms, and Kyungsoo did admit he was at fault for that. Kyungsoo played the ignoring game rather than confessing to Baekhyun that it wasn't working out, then Kyungsoo met Jongin. No dates had occurred yet, but heart racing, flushed cheeks, and butterflies where attributes Baekhyun never made Kyungsoo feel, while Jongin never failed to.

"I hear you're married."

"Yes, Jongin and I are married."

He heard Baekhyun smirk is disgust, which brought a harsh frown to Kyungsoo's face. "Well I just wanted to say.. Good luck. Good luck with married life. And I hope you don't wreck Jongin like you wrecked me."

"Wha--" Kyungsoo began to utter, but before getting out a full response, the line went dead. "What the.." Kyungsoo roughly tossed his phone onto the couch as his frustration grew. Kyungsoo had a low threshold when it came to tolerating drunks, especially the emotional drunks. The sudden call managed to bring down Kyungsoo's mood within less than a minute, and the stomach ache and nausea he was having wasn't helping at all.

Just about as he was going to storm out the room, his phone rang from the couch., Kyungsoo let out a frustrated huff and walked over to his phone. He frowned down at the ID, half expecting the ID to read 'private number' once again, but to his surprise it read as 'Jongin'.

"Jongin?"

"Heeeey, baby!" Jongin slurred before erupting into a fit of airy giggles.

"..Oh god.." Kyungsoo can only facepalm and drop down onto the couch. "Not you too."

"I just-- I just-- I.. M-My hotel room is lonely."

From Kyungsoo's end, he could hear Jongin's heavy footsteps stumbling around what he proclaimed to be his hotel room. "Our bed is quite lonely too. I miss y--"

"Jooongiiiin.~" a woman's voice chimed from the other end and the pain in Kyungsoo's stomach instantly grew.

"Who's that?"

But the line cut out.

..What if Sehun was right? What if the whole trip opens Jongin's eyes? They had waited less than a year to get married. It wouldn't be a surprise if Jongin had gorgeous women swarmed at his feet. Not only that but males too who had a more impressive physique than the pale singer. Kyungsoo could be easily replaced.. Easily cut out.. Jongin could do whatever he wanted, and Kyungsoo couldn't stop him.

***

Kyungsoo woke up the following morning with a bundle of happy emoticons from Jongin, along with brief yet sappy morning messages. In Jongin's intoxicated state, it was a surprise as to how he'd even be able to send such messages. It had been a long time since Kyungsoo had witnessed a drunk Jongin. He partially had to convince himself that Jongin was just a rather fast recoverer.

Kyungsoo couldn't help but still carry the same concerns as the night prior. He would admit, his sleep was dreadful. He couldn't bare the thought of foreign hands touching Jongin.. their filthy hands caressing the very embodiment that Kyungsoo adored with every ounce of his being. Even other people mentioning his name drove Kyungsoo into a jealous fit, and he had no clue as to why he was being so sensitive.

But he trusted Jongin. He had to constantly reassure himself that Jongin would never do anything with anyone else.

The stomach ache and the nausea hadn't ceased. Infact, all his joints felt weak. He remained huddled in his bed with his phone tucked by his side closely for whenever Jongin would message him or call him. Messages were dropped here and there, but due to Jongin's busy schedule, replies tended to be slow.

It was over 2 hours since Jongin last replied, and Kyungsoo's lack of sleep was catching upto him. He began to drowse off just as he heard his phone ring. Without reading the caller ID, he hurriedly answered.

"Hello?"

"Kyungsoo, it's Baek."

Kyungsoo fell silent. A large part of him was disappointed as to why Jongin was not the one calling him, and another part of him was aggrevated as to how Baekhyun would have the nerve to call.

"I was looking through my call history and I saw your number, and it's dated as last night.. What happened? I'm sorry, I don't remember."

Kyungsoo rolled onto his side and let out a tired huff before answering. "You told me that I wrecked you emotionally, then you wished me luck with Jongin and hoped I wouldn't wreck him the same way I wrecked you." Kyungsoo stated tiredly, and each word he spoke made him want to coil up into a ball beneath his sheets until Jongin got back. "I'm not in the mood to talk. Can I go?"

"No. Kyungsoo, stop." Baekhyun pleaded. "Please."

Kyungsoo let out a pained groan as the core of his stomach cramped. He whimpered and rolled onto his back with a hand held to his stomach.

"Kyungsoo? Kyungsoo! Are you okay?" Desperation and worry coated Baekhyun's voice.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. I just feel abit sick."

"You don't sound just 'abit sick', Baby Soo."

'Baby Soo' was a term Baekhyun would always refer Kyungsoo with when they were on their own. A part of Kyungsoo loved the name; he liked to be pampered with affection, since he had been absent from it as a child - that attribute made Kyungsoo an easy person to swoon. Baekhyun's silence that followed his statement showed the 'Baby Soo' slip-up was entirely subconcious.

"Sorry I didn't mean to-"

"That's alright, don't worry about it." Kyungsoo hurriedly reassured and smiled faintly to himself. "But damn, my stomach is killing me. I have no desire to get out of bed. I just feel so weak."

"Maybe you're pregnant." Baekhyung deadpanned.

"What? That's not possible!" Kyungsoo shot back.

"Mm.. A child with your eyes and Jongin's lips; that sounds so cute!"

"Stop it."

"Would you want a boy or a girl? A girl, right? Most gay couples go for a girl."

"Can you not-"

"Can I be the godfather? Can I? I can be a babysitter! My other friend has a child so I can ask for their old baby clothes. They have a little tiger jumpsuit! It's the cutest thing ever! You have to dress your baby in that!"

Kyungsoo broke into a laugh. Baekhyun and Kyungsoo went back and forth battling on cute baby names and which schools would be best, and it felt like by the time the call ended they gathered a 20 year life plan for Kyungsoo's first child.

"Are you still sleepy?" Baekhyun asked through a yawn, despite it being 2 in the afternoon.

"Mhm.." Kyungsoo simply hummed in response and slowly shut his eyes. "Are you sleepy?"

"I am actually, I have no clue why. You've worn me out, Baby Soo."

"Like I didn't when we were dating." Kyungsoo let out a laugh.

Baekhyun choked up on his end. "E-Excuse me?"

Kyungsoo's eyes widened before he shakily stuttered out. "I m-mean when I made you go on morning jogs with me! Not.. 'that'! Gosh, why do you always have to take things in a ual context?"

They shared a laugh as Kyungsoo made himself cozy in his bed. His stomach cramps weren't as painful anymore. He could hear Baekhyun shuffling around on his end of the call, probably he too getting comfortable for a nap. "Baby Soo, you should sing for me."

"Sing?"

"Yeah, like, a lullaby."

Kyungsoo smiled bashfully and shyly hid his face, despite Baekhyun not physically being there. "No, no."

"Aww.. Soo, please!

"Goodnight."

"Kyungsoo!"

"Sweet dreams."

"DO Kyungsoo!"

"That's Kim Kyungsoo, mister. I am a married man."

Baekhyun fell quiet for a moment or two before he let out a low sigh. "Yeah.."

Kyungsoo felt an instant mood drop from Baekhyun. The playful tonality of his speech was gone, and Kyungsoo felt like he was the source. He opened his eyes and chomped down on his lower lip. After several seconds of awkward silence, Kyungsoo drew the phone closer to his mouth and proceeded to faintly sing. He wasn't even really trying, but Baekhyun praised him albeit.

"Aw, please don't stop."

"But the song's over."

"Sing another one, please?"

Kyungsoo proceeded to sing several songs for Baekhyun until the sound of breathing was all Kyungsoo was receiving from the other end. He ended the call once he was sure enough Baekhyun was asleep, then the tucked himself in and slowly drifted off into a sleep. For the first time in days Kyungsoo fell asleep with a smile on his face. If only he knew.

***

The day of Jongin's return finally came, and Kyungsoo hurriedly ran around the house cleaning. He vacuumed the carpets, mopped the tiles, fluffed out the cushions, and completed other endless little chores. He wanted Jongin's return to be comfortable. The poor reception on Jongin's end was more than frustrating. The wedded couple hadn't been able to have a stable conversation.

In the midst of Kyungsoo's hurrying around, his stomach cramps returned.

"Ahhh.." Kyungsoo closed his eyes tightly with an arm clutched around his stomach, spare hand resting on the kitchen counter for support with his posture hunched forward. The pain was practically unbearable. Kyungsoo hadn't eaten that morning. Whenever he was near any food, he would fall into a binge, indugling anything and everything in sight. He needed to pay attention to his physique. He didn't know how he could go from being so hungry, to not wanting to be anywhere near food in a matter of moments.

Kyungsoo shakily stumbled into the bathroom once the pain was bearable enough to walk. He ran to the toilet, slamming the bathroom door shut behind him. All the binged food came up again and splattered grossily into the toilet. Kyungsoo was in tears. The pain wouldn't stop.

He flushed the toilet and stumbled toward the medicine cabinet. He tossed undesired bottles aside, but found nothing. No painkillers or anything. ".." Kyungsoo yelped as he felt another cramp coming along. Desperate for comfort, he continued to search, then he came across a white box.

***

"The Philippines was great. I wasn't meant to be back until tonight but I thought I'd surprise Kyungsoo." Jongin spoke through his phone to his co-worker while he sat in the back seat of a taxi.

"Ah, I'm sure he'll be excited."

"Yeah, I hope so. We didn't really get to talk much over the 3 days. I was starting to get worried about him."

"We had fun with you here. Bring your husband here next time!"

Jongin laughed and nodded his head. "Maybe, maybe. We'll see."

"Alright, buddy. I gotta head off, but I'll catch up with you  later."

"Thanks for everything. I had alot of fun." Jongin ended the call with a smile resting on his face. He felt a wave of comfort. He thoroughly enjoyed the trip, but part of him knew it would've been far more enjoyable with his husband there to share the experience.

Within minutes, the taxi arrived at the front of Jongin and Kyungsoo's apartment building. He paid the taxi driver, thanked him, and hurriedly ran up to their apartment. Oh, the many stories that Jongin had to tell, and all the pictures Jongin had to share with Kyungsoo. He knew he'd love them.

Jongin burst through the door of their apartment and eagerly glanced around for his husband. "Kyungsoo! I got an early flight." But no answer. Jongin frowned to himself. He was expecting an affectionate Kyungsoo throwing himself at him, but nothing. "Kyungsoo?" Jongin settled his bag down on the couch. Just then, Kyungsoo slowly walked out of the bathroom as pale as a ghost. "Baby.. are you okay?"

"Jongin.. I'm pregnant."
