The Replacement Bride

Description

Kris had always believed arranged marriages only existed in Asian dramas (which he refuses to admit he watches) and fanfictions (which he refuses to admit he reads).

Being the sole heir to one of the largest software companies in all of China, however, the twenty-four-year-old realizes he should have figured he’d be made victim to an arranged marriage eventually. That is, after all, what happens to all the hot rich guys in dramas (not that he would know of course). Truthfully, though, the lad finds this idea absolutely absurd—crazy, cliché, ridiculous.

Until he finds out whom his fiancée is.

Yoo Haejung. Or, as he likes to describe her, “that girl with the really nice legs.” When he discovers his bride is the girl of his and practically every straight guy’s dream, the male doesn’t hesitate to say hell to the ing yes.

As he and his Korean wife-to-be had settled on a mutual agreement to go through with the marriage, Kris can’t help but feel a shocking wave of emotions crash over him when the girl doesn’t show up for her own wedding.

Stranded alone at the altar, the groom is left with a broken heart and a nervous smile; suspicious murmurs arise at the absence of the bride. In a panic to avoid public humiliation at what hundreds of reporters call “the wedding of the year,” the Yoo family shove Haejung’s twin sister into a bridal gown and fling her down the aisle before she could even say hell to the ing no.

About the Story;

The Replacement Bride is a chaptered fanfiction—which stars Kris Wu (Wu Yi Fan) of EXO and a fictional character named Yoo Minjung—written with the intent to take a cliché, overused plot and twist it into something more unique and refreshing. A story that deals not only with romance, but darker themes such as greed and betrayal, The Replacement Bride is like a wedding cake whose outside is decorated with laughter, love, and trust—while the inside is layered with secrets, hidden motives, and untold desires.

[4 Apr 14] This story begins in December of 2013 because that is when I had actually begun to write this (but it is currently being rewritten after I had determined it all to be crap).
I hope to post the prologue very soon so please subscribe and comment to see how this story goes ’cause I guarantee this will be one of hell of a roller coaster. ;)

Since in my other story I use the Korean age system, I will use it here, too, to stay consistent. In Korean age, Kris is 24 (remember that the story begins in December), as are Haejung and Minjung.
