Writing your Description & Foreword
Never ever confuse the description with the foreword. I cannot stress this enough. These two are like dark and white chocolate, similar but never alike. I've seen many stories and even workshops who mix these two up and if you are still confused, don't fret! We will explain the difference of the two for you.
A description is a short introduction of your story. This will appear under your story when it is searched or seen in the new updates, kinda like a written trailer for your story. This may help lure in readers so make it extra nice. It doesn't really have a limit but be aware that it should be short and interesting enough to lure in readers. Meanwhile the foreword is something that is an extention of your description. It can contain a short prologue for your story, quotations and table of contents (only if the story is a collection of short stories.) You can also put in your little author's note, the trailers, other posters and shops that you would like to thank here but make sure those acknowlegements are at the very end of your foreword. You can make your css codes, music and other stuff you do to make that pages pretty, be our guest, but take note that your writing is more important so focus on it more. "What?!!! No character description?" Nope... please don't. Just please dont. We will explain later why. The Desciption The average movie trailer last around 30 seconds and the most effective ones can convince you to watch the movie after that time. That is the effect you want to get after having the people see a snippet of your description. Now, here is a bad news for all of us... Asianfanfics usually only lets around 10 to 15 words on your description to show when people look it up. No pressure. Just hope for the best and pray that
