Making Your Title   Titles and its creation can be compared to a girl in her first day at school. A girl in her first day of school should always remain prim and proper and fun and mysterious. Thou shall not give away too much and never just too little, it is a balance of a lot of elements.   Titles should always try to outdo everything because the title of your fic creates the first impression. People are more likely to approach a fic and take interest in it if it has been able to create a certain mystery that would leave them asking, why is this like this? What can this be? Or something that would just get them to ask just about anything. Your main goal here is to capture the readers interest.   In making titles, remember the acronym KISS, keep it short and simple. The thing with titles are that of keeping someone interested, something uncommon without compromising the integrity of the fanfic. The title would provide the reader a gist of the story, maybe why it's different from others or even just a word that would entice them into opening your story.   An ideal title goes from a word to a maximum of maybe five or seven. The word 'short' is a compromise of the chapters that you are going to write so you basically put thought into it as much as you wll with the content of each of our chapters.   Take for example, That Empty Bus Seat by fan-atic. This title makes you question why did the author choose this kind of title and what is going on on that specific bus seat and what is the story behind it. You need to consider that what sparks the greatest attention is a title that would be rarely used or much better, if it wasn't used at all ever.   Your title can also be a memorable line or concept from your story. For example, one of your characters might have a line where a girl says "He is a breath of fresh air. The beautiful dissonance in my orchestra of a life." You may name you fic as Beautiful Dissonance   I must say that I am guilty for commiting the long title error though. The title in one of my stories is rather mouthful so some of my readers don't really remember the title but they do remember the story. What you can do to try and make an alternative title for your fic to help them remember. Do take note that the alternative title should be in the the main title but it is a rule that can not be followed all times. You can also make another title but hey, why not just make that shorter one your title? It's less the hassle. Another method is to make the alternative title an acronym of the first letter's of the words in the lenghty title.   Since songs are usually basically stories in music, let's look at some good song title alternatives to help you understand. Examples include: SHINee's Clue + Note ----> Sherlock  2PM's All Day I Think of You ----> ADTOY   Sherlock is much easier to remember than Clue + Note plus it's a much catchier title. Meanwhile, ADTOY doesn't really make any sense but can serve as a good alternative title if you really can't somehow put a short title for your fic. It's easier to say and remember ADTOY th
