It's 1392- Buddhism in Korea has been almost completely eliminated (spare a few intellectuals, monks, and practicers)
Jung Yunho is a happy, lower class peasant whose main goals in life are to help others and find true love.
Kim Jaejoong is an unhappy, upper-class aristocrat who's forced into an arranged marriage to the beautiful Cha Myung-Ok, a young girl of Mongolian lineage, to solidify alliances.
Yunho's strange dreams of a heavenly man lead him to one of the few Buddhist temples left in the kingdom, where the the two meet.
The two quickly form a powerful friendship, despite their very different backgrounds.
As time goes by, however, their friendship blossoms into a forbidden love, and the two men know that they are risking their lives to be together.
Just as things couldn't get worse, the temple where they met was threatened to be destroyed, and the kingdom had officially gone to war with Japan.
Ultimatums must be made quickly.
