Here, out with him again. Despite my mind repeatedly telling me not to go, I followed my heart where it wanted to go. My heart took control of my entire body and I had no choice but to follow. What else could I do?

He carelessly s his arm around my waist and the tingles it gave me 6 months ago was still there, only for entirely different reasons. “What are you thinking about babe?” He whispered, voice deep and rich as he sniffed my hair, acknowledging the peach apple shampoo scent with a happy sigh. Knowing he was happy, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. I turned my head at a slight angle, being very careful not to let my hair whip his face. I let a small smile hang on my lips and I looked at him in the eye, after being sure I had my walls up so he couldn't read my eyes. I heard the muffled giggles of girls near us, whispering on how cute we two were. I snorted inwardly. Cute. What nonsense. I turned my head back to face the front just before the smile I had on my face dropped. It was a habit now. Having a smile on my face constantly when I was around him, which was all the time. It used to be a chore, a burden I couldn't carry because at times, my smile would be too wide making it look suspicious. Sometimes I would forget to smile because simply, on the inside, I was breaking down. At times I would wonder why I haven't left yet. Was it because I actually still loved him?
