If only you knew, you would’ve stopped and thought about it before taking the plunge.

He was a friend you met at college. He was a classmate in trigonometry and a lab partner for Chemistry. You had a great time with him, proving trigonometric identities and balancing chemical equations.

Somewhere between the frequent trips to the library and unwinding at a local student café, you find your mouths in a tongue tied kiss. The next thing you knew was waking up next to him with your chemistry report half way done and due the next morning.

You felt extremely happy as you stare at him sleeping like an angel. You took a good look around his room and noticed the vibrating phone on the night stand. Without thinking, you answered it and out came the voice of an excited male.

‘Kyuhyun sweetie!!!” The voice said and you swallowed hard.

“Oh Hello, this is not Kyuhyun.” You replied.

“Oh who are you?” The voice asked and you swallowed the lump on your throat.

“Zhoumi. I am his lab partner and we were finishing our lab report.” You answered and the voice was back on its cheerful state.

“Oh Mimi? Yeah I heard about you from that of a boyfriend of mine. This is Sungmin by the way. Just remind him of our date tomorrow after that lab report is done. Bye!” The line went dead and you felt the tears build up on the side of your eyes. You placed the phone back on the night stand and sighed before dressing up.

You packed your bag and stashed the report you were trying to finish. You never knew he was taken, that he was seeing someone already You reached for the door but decided to look at the angelic face one last time before you completely walk out of the room, out of the dorm and back towards your own room.

You took in a deep breath as you let yourself sank in your own bed and felt disgusted with yourself. You didn’t know about Sungmin. A loud ringing brought you back and as you answered the phone, fresh tears started to fell.

“Why did you leave?” You heard him spoke.

“I’ll finish the report today.” You said, trying not to sound like you’ve been crying.

“oh, but it’ll be easier if we do it together.” Kyuhyun said and you shook your head.

“I can manage it. By the way Kuaxian, Sungmin called earlier and he told me to remind you about your date tomorrow.” You said and you can hear Kyuhyun sighing and you heard a change of tone.

“So you knew.” Kyuhyun asked and you hummed in reply.

“I’m sorry Mi. It’s not that I want to use you…” Kyuhyun started but you didn’t let him finish.

“Oh it’s okay. I need to go and finish the report. See you Kuaixian.” You said then immediately hanged up.

He tried to call you a couple of times but you turned off your phone and let your tears spill; you were pathetic.
