Baekhyun came from a family of vampires who's powers was to blind people or make illusions. He was a special child that had the ability to do both, but his family kept it a secret. It was dangerous to have a big amount of powers because the elders would take you away from your family and everyone you knew.

Baekhyun was allow to only present one of his ability to the outside world, which was to blind people. He didn't have a choice because his parents and his brother also contain that power and only that one. So it'd be confusing if he somehow was the only one in his household that can make illusions.

Like everyone else Baekhyun attended school. There were different sections in the school of course; Elemental control, Physical control, Defense control, and finally the Dangerous class. Variant High School wasn't any different from other schools, just that only vampires attended and it was located on an island. They had social ranks like other schools too. The Physical class on top, the Element came after, then the Defense and Dangerous class.

Unfortunately Baekhyun was in the Defense section, the 3rd social rank. So he was bullied and was sometimes seen as an outcast. The only people he knew were from the Defense and Dangerous classes. His best friend was Zitao who was from the Dangerous class because his powers was time control. People think he's a bad person but he's really a scaredy cat and sometimes a diva. Baekhyun likes teasing him from time to time for being a wussy. Even his sister is more manlier than him.
