Yun Mi pushed against Kris's chest, refusing to hear anymore of what he had to say. She was done. She was sick of him. He always had to make it clear that he knew better than she did, that every decision she made was childish. He didn't have to say it, it was in his body language; the way he spoke to her like she was a child, the way he shadowed her every movement. She didn't want it anymore. 

"Kris, I think we should break up." She blurted out, looking down to avoid his gaze.

"W-what?" he sputtered, in disbelief. 

She sighed, running her hands through her hair, it would be a lot harder than she had thought to break up with him. They'd been together for so long and...to say that she didn't love him deeply would be the biggest lie ever told. But she wanted more. She wanted to stay out late partying, go drinking with her friends and have fun, something that she was never allowed to do with Kris. His love was too...strong. She wasn't ready for the intensity that a relationship with the older boy would bring, it was too much. 

"Yun Mi-ah...," he reached to cup her cheeks, making her look up at him, "Please don't do this." 

Yun Mi closed her eyes, breathing in the familiar scent of her...well, what was he to her? He was more than a boyfriend, he loved and protected her with all of his heart ever since she could remember, and to break it off with him was like tearing a piece of her heart out too. But it was worth it. Without Kris, she could live her life how she wanted and not worry about being scolded like a child. 

"Kris, stop it." She took hold of his wrists, removing them from her face, "I don't want this anymore. Please leave." 

For the first time, she looked up into his eyes and saw the tears there. It was the first time she had ever seen him cry and it made her feel like the most horrible person on earth. She had made Kris Wu cry, the boy who maintained a cold exterior, only showing her his vulnerable side. She couldn't stand to see him broken like that so she looked to the floor again. Nothing was heard in the room except for their breathing. For what seemed hours, they stood there, not saying a word, until she saw from her downward gaze his feet begin to move.

He then spoke the words that would both break her heart and make her want to be in his arms again. 

"When you need me, I'll always be there. Even when you push me away, I'll always be by your side."
