You and I

The Green Pendant

“Finished!”
She straightened the last leaf and curved a smile.

“Can you go back to home for a while?”
Mom?

Krystal turned her head and took a deep, anxious breath, preparing herself for some lecture.
“What’s wrong mom?” she carefully asked.
The older woman shook her head and grinned.
She frowned.
This old woman showed her creepy grin again. Then something happened…

They flew to their home in silence, busy with their own thought.
When they reached their home, she saw a man was standing in front of the door.
Krystal frowned. Was he the reason for mom’s weirdness?
“I’ve never saw him before.” she muttered.

From head to toe, he seemed flawless.
His facial features were good.
Moreover, he was unbelievably tall.
So she needed to lift her head to see his face properly.

“Krystal? Honey, listen.”
The younger girl turned her head and looked at her mom, showed an unreadable face.
Her mind wanted to shout ‘Who’s this stranger?’ so badly. But she would never do it anyway.
With a happy face, the older woman tapped his shoulder and convinced her.
“Don’t be too awkward. He’s a nice guy, believe me.”
Nice guy? Really? Tsk.
He smiled shyly and caressed his nape.
“I’m not that nice Ma’am.” he grumbled.
Yes, I knew that you weren’t that nice.

That simple compliment led them into a long conversation. Krystal shrugged. She was going to lake again when she accidentally noticed his necklace. He wore a good necklace with a green pendant.
“A man with expensive necklace must be someone important.”

“Ne?”
Krystal frowned.
Did she say her thought aloud?
She looked at her mom and Max who seemed confused.
This time, she felt like a .
“Uh, never mind. Just continue your business. I’ll go to—“
“My business is with you...” He cut her words with a calm tone.

Krystal’s pace come to a halt. She nervously looked at him and tried to arrange some words.
“Me?”
She emphasized her word, made sure about his statement.
“I’m just kidding. Don’t be too awkward!”
He chuckled happily and offered his hand.
Is it time for introduction?

“Max.”
He curved a sweet smile that any girl would fall with.
“Krystal.”
They shook their hand and the atmosphere became even weirder.
“Ah-Uh- Y-Your palm is cold.”
Max scratched his head and mumbled.
“I’m nervous.”
---
“I’ll go back to the lake. Do you want to join?” she said casually.
Max nodded. He got a great chance before even try.
Felt satisfied with his answer, she unveiled her big white wings and smiled.

The man looked at her with amazement.
She was surrounded with white light with those beautiful furs in her back.
Her black and long silky hair fell perfectly on her back, completely made him amused.
He made a slight smile and looked at her.
“You’re so beautiful, Krys” he mumbled.

“Max, let’s go!”
Max was shocked. He wanted to overextend times, but the girl in front of wouldn’t like it, anyway.
Slowly, he closed his eyes and unveiled his wings.
When he opened his eyes, he realized that a green light was wrapped him.
“This light is mine?”

Krystal frowned. The man in front of her seems shocked with himself.
She patted his shoulder and asked him in a slow voice.
“What’s wrong?”
But the man didn’t answer, he chose to fly.

With a soft movement, they landed on a green grass in front of the lake.
“This is the lake?”
Max walked closer as he hid his white wings on his back.
He looked around, didn’t even bother to wait for her answer.

That lake had a finely blue surface with a bright blue sky and thin clouds.
It’s surrounded by a bunch of trees and some stones.
Many swans were staying on the lake while some birds were migrating above.
The grass was fresh and green; he could feel the dew in the grass.

“Ne. Beautiful right? I love this lake.”
Max turned his head and nodded.
It’s beautiful, and it would always be different from other lake.
It might have the same trees, waters, swans, and other things as other lake, but his dream made it different.
When he was child, he dreamt about a lake that will change his world, forever.
And he knew that his feeling wouldn’t ever wrong.
But well, there’s no girl in his dream.

“Hey, I’ll make some flower crown first.” Krystal’s thin voice broke his daydream.
He opened his eyes and saw Krystal’s figure walked away.
Afraid that he’d be alone, he got up and ran towards her.
“Can I help?”
She quickly responded with a no.

With a slight pout in his face, he ran quicker.
“Why? I’m a plant fairy though.”
She frowned and turned around.
“Plant fairies usually don’t have any necklace.” she said, with a sarcasm tone.

Bam!
His face slowly turned pale, and he knew that Krystal distrust him.
“I-it”
Krystal gulped. She asked a wrong question then.

She turned around and stood in front of him.
“Sorry for make you feel uneasy.”
Max forced a smile and covered his necklace with his collars.
“It’s okay. Just ignore my necklace.”

“By the way, what kind of fairy are you?”
Krystal giggled. This man was curious huh?
She slowly whispered to Max.
“I’m star fairy.”

When Krystal whispered to him, he could feel something different.
The sensation she gave when she did that is just good.
A hot and tickled feeling mixed up, that’s a new experience for him.

He ended up concluding that Krystal was a wild girl.
