Watching You

Watching You

One of the hardest things in life is watching the person you love, love someone else

Foreword

Sorrowful, sorrowful and bitter was all she could feel deep inside her heart. A feeling she has grown used to.
After all she has been living with this agony for quite some time already. At first there were tears, punches to the wall, curses to the air. But as time passed, gradually, she became "used" to it. Because one can never trully get used to the situation she was in.
She has been watching her, everyday, ever since. It's amazing the kind of things you observe when you are watching someone.

And again, she was watching her, every step she took and every move she made. She was watching. She felt like her guardian angel. She was her best friend after all so she wasn't that far away from such a role...

Friend...a word that felt bitter on and stingy on her heart. Yep, like many other people in the 21st Century she had been...friendzoned. It's a natural occurence that happens sometimes involuntarily. Basically she had unrequited and purely one sided love. Let's not get too complex okay?

Sunny looked from afar as she watched her only love with the person her love loved. Outside Sunny, was expressionless or ocasionally faking that smile for the other people at the party. But deep inside? She was devastated, destroyed and raging to let her feelings out. It was sad...a sad life she had been living for the past 2 years. She still remembers the evening she told her.

Kim Taeyeon...her best friend...

A small girl sat beside Sunny on the couch. She was giggling.

-"What's up?" Sunny asked.

-"I think I like someone" Taeyeon said.

One nail right through Sunny's heart. She wasn't even hoping the other girl to say it was her.

-"Who is it?" Sunny said smiling.

-"Tiffany, she's so cute and gorgeous" Taeyeon said.

-"But I don't have the confidence..." Taeyeon said as the glow in her eyes disappeared.

Sunny looked at her down sided friend. She breathed in deeply.

-"I think you should tell her, I mean...it's not like you're going to lose anything right? Just ask her for a date at first and then...build up from there" Sunny said.

-"Thanks for the advice Sunny you're the best" Taeyeon said as she hugged Sunny and left.

Sunny let out her breath that was trapped. She looked at the ceiling.

"Way to go Sunny, telling the girl you love to do what you should've done" Sunny thought.

Sunny looked towards one of the balconies. Taeyeon and Tiffany were there, hugging each other. With not a care in the world.
Sunny was only rebound now...she was only supposed to be there whenever they had a fight.
Suddenly someone tapped Sunny's shoulder. A tall figure looked at her.

-"Why do you do this to yourself?" She asked.

-"I can't let my sight off from her, what if something happens to her? I have to be there for her" Sunny said.

-"Sunny, you're not a guardian angel, you're her friend..." She said.

The tall girl sighed.

-"Look...we both know you would like to be there instead of Tiffany but...you're not" She said.

-"Sooyoung" Sunny said.

-"No, I want you to stop doing this...I mean, you're only hurting yourself" Sooyoung said.

-"Something wrong?" Taeyeon asked as she appeared behind Sunny.

-"Huh? No...just telling our friend Sunny, some useful advice" Sooyoung said as she left.

-"What's happened? Weren't you with Tiffany?" Sunny asked.

-"She...we...fought" Taeyeon said.

-"Really? Again?" Sunny asked.

-"It's just that...I don't like her seeing that Jessica Jung too much" Taeyeon said.

-"Well, I'm sure it's nothing you should worry about" Sunny said.

Taeyeon sighed.

-"So how are you? Did you went on that blind date I sent you to?" Taeyeon asked.

-"No, I was busy...I called the girl to apologize though" Sunny said.

-"How do you expect to stop being single if you don't go on a single date? All you do is work" Taeyeon said.

Ever since she "lost" Taeyeon to Tiffany, Sunny has been overworking. She has buried herself in work in a futile attempt to forget Taeyeon.

-"I could go on a date..." Sunny said but she hesitated not sure if she should say it.

Fortunately the bit of alcohol in her body helped.

-"with you" She finished.

-"Oh...but...as friends right?" Taeyeon said as she sensed something.

Sunny looked at Taeyeon with an expression of hurt that neither of them thought was possible in this life.

-"Yeah...as friends" Sunny said as she faked a smile.

-"I'll call you tomorrow" Taeyeon said.

-"Sure, I think I'm going, I don't feel very well" Sunny said as she left.

Taeyeon was confused. She went to the bar where Sooyoung was sat in one of the high stools. She sat beside her tall friend.

-"Sunny is so strange..." Taeyeon said.

Unfortunately Sooyoung was completly wasted as she had fought with her girlfriend Im Yoona just a few minutes ago.

-"Of course she is *hiccup* Pabo! She loves you" Sooyoung said clearly drunk.

Taeyeon looked at Sooyoung with a surprised expression.

-"Sooyoung...are you saying the truth?" Taeyeon asked.

-"I may be drung but I stell kno wha I'm sayin" Sooyoung said as she was then helped by one of the workers.

Taeyeon went back to the balcony. She looked at the city skyline.

Sunny loved her? And that's when Taeyeon finally noticed...all those tears Sunny would shed for no reason. All those comments that sometimes would be left unanswered. All the times Sunny looked at her with the same expression of hurt she had showed her today.
Taeyeon suddenly remembered them all. It was if they hadn't been there before. When there was no drunk Sooyoung to tell her about her friends feelings for her.

Taeyeon suddenly remembered the night Sunny told her to ask Tiffany out on a date. She suddenly remembered the faint and hurt smile on her face. A single tear escaped Taeyeon's eye. Her friend as always been there for her, for the worst and the best. And she had to hide her true feelings all that time? How hurt and harsh must it have been? The pain...the hurt...

Taeyeon couldn't even imagine. Suddenly a pair of arms involved Taeyeon. She turned around and looked at Tiffany.

-"Baby, why are you crying?" Tiffany asked trying to pretend their fight from earlier hadn't happened.

-"Let's break up" Taeyeon said as she looked down.

-"Did you figured it out?" Tiffany said.

-"What?!" Taeyeon suddenly said surprised.

-"Oh...I thought..." Tiffany said.

-"The truth is that me and Tiffany have been dating behind your back" Jessica said.

-"She just didn't have the guts to tell you" She said.

Taeyeon wasn't surprised or shocked and strangely...she just laughed at the whole situation.

-"I hope you two be happy" Taeyeon said as she gave one last sincere smile before punching Jessica in the stomach and leaving as fast as she could.

She was going, going after her love that has always been watching her.

Sunny went inside her apartment, she took off her shoes, throwed her bag somewhere and just landed, face first on the couch. She streched one arm and grabbed the remote. She the TV. Some stupid irrealistic drama was on TV. She couldn't care less...the TV only worked as a background noise anyways. Sunny was feeling bad, again, seeing Taeyeon and Tiffany together everytime was slowly eating her heart, bit by bit. Sunny just wanted to relax for a while.
She closed her eyes and slowly...she was falling asleep...she was. Until someone decided to knock on her door...well more like kick.

-"What the hell? Don't you any respect for someone who is trying to sleep?!" Sunny yelled as she got up and walked towards the door.

-"No, I don't respect you" Taeyeon said as Sunny opened the door.

-"Kim Taeyeon? What the hell are you doing here?" Sunny said surprised.

-"I just ditched Tiffany because she was dating Jessica behind my back and drunk Sooyoung told me you like me" Taeyeon said as she scrached her head in a kid like manner.

Sunny looked at her surprised. She was still processing the information.

-"Jessica...Tiffany? Sooyoung...Drunk?" Sunny said as she was still processing.

-"Oh god, just shut up" Taeyeon said as she suddenly grabbed Sunny and planted a kiss on her lips.

Sunny let out a tear from her eye as she kissed Taeyeon.

-"I know it now, I know you've always been watching..." Taeyeon said as she smiled her forehead on Sunny's.

-"I'll always watch you..." Sunny said.

-"Lee Sunkyu" Taeyeon said earning a slap to the arm by Sunny.

-"Don't call me that" Sunny said.

-"Sunny, do you want to go on a date with me?" Taeyeon asked.

-"It's kind of a permanent date" Taeyeon said.

-"Sure...forever" Sunny said as she leaned and kissed Taeyeon.
