It's snowing the first day he sees him.

     Youngjae notes everything he can about the stranger. The way his lips soak up the cold air, snowflakes clinging to the plump flesh; his face remarkably pale despite the nippy air. How he rocked back and forth as he waited for the crosswalk signal, as if he had somewhere exceptionally important to be and he was running late. The stranger stuffed a hand into his pocket, returning with a crumbled tissue. Youngjae thought it was strange for someone to sniffle and cough as if they had a cold, but not have a single red flush across their cheeks.

     There is a slight red irritation from the tissue, however, and he focuses on this as the stranger put the tissue back in his pocket before his eyes start to wander. Lips, jaw, neck. All white in a stark contrast to his pitch black coat. Hands, dry and cracked. Legs, long, shaped, and restless. Eyes--

     Looking back at him.

     His heart nearly stops because he was caught staring, which was not something he was prone to do, even in the presence of the most beautiful. But more than that, in the midst of all the snowflakes and chatter, this man was smiling at him. His pale lips stretched in the most crooked, knowing way and Youngjae wanted to be embarrassed for the impression he left.

     But then the crossing signal changed and the stranger was gone, leaving Youngjae waiting all alone at the bus stop.

A/N: this is just something that's been floating around my head for a while now so i decided to post it. hopefully the fact that i've written some of it ahead of time will help a bit haha. i'm not really good at chaptered fics since i'm a slow writer and it takes me a while for me to update otl anyway where my himjae shippers at ;;; tbh i initially got this idea from listening to skinny love by bon iver, but the song only somewhat describes it. the definitions in the description do it so much more justice.
