The day started out bright albeit a little cloudy, our typical playful banter turned into a full blown argument.
This is not right, we hardly fought.
It went downhill from there and I cannot remember the times where we were cuddling on the bed, talking about everything and nothing.
Sleepless nights, phonecalls and conversations with curt replies.
This is it then, we were drifting apart slowly but surely.
The long awaited closure I have been dreading came faster than I thought.
Now, we were no longer on the same paths, each walking on their own.

Swinging myself aimlessly on the swing, I couldn't help thinking about our brief meeting this afternoon.
You was warm as ever, talking casually with me as though we were old friends.
This made no sense because we were after all still strangers.
You seemed to have move on and I am catching up, or am I not?
I thought that I was alright, convinced even. But was I really am?
The hatred I bore towards you left a dull throbbing pain intensified by our meeting.
That billion dollar smile that you wore today left me bewildered.
How could you even smile that brightly? But on second thoughts, it looks as though it was something deeper. Sadness perhaps?
I felt drained, it seems that this meeting took all my energy away with it.
I am fine, I hope and pray so.
But not at all though because this snuffed out heart of mine is still...
Missing you.

This short love story had run its course faster than I can fathom, but never doubt for a moment that I hope you will be happy.
I still hold our times together fondly, let's have what we shared be part of our memories even as time goes on.
Afterall, we once got each others' back ; a long time ago.
