Finale

Thin Paper and Black Ink
Hyejeong took one more glance at him.
Kim Myungsoo gave one more dreary yawn and went back to his sleeping position.
It was typical of him to sleep in class.
Everyone was used to him that way and they never bothered to wake him up.
She was always amused with the way he acted.
He never tried to act cool.
He wasn't like the others who hid a facade to impress others.
He was just himself. His cool and nonchalant self.
That was what she liked about him.
The teacher called his attention and he replied with a sleazy smile.
Everyone giggles as the teacher comments about his action but he manages to put on a cool front and ends up brushing it off.
Kim Myungsoo was a peculiar guy and that was what she liked about him.

Kim Myungsoo was a guy who had his heart on his sleeves.
He changed crushes whenever it didn't work out for him.
Hyejeong knew about this but she never cared. Truthfully, love wasn't her first priority at that moment but sometimes she would actually wish that he would look her way.
They were seat mates in one class.
One day, Hyejeong had the courage to talk to him.
She asked, "Do you know what "you give my heart a pulmonary ventricular contraction" mean?"
He shook his head.
She answers innocently without realizing what she just said, "You make my heart skip a beat."
He smiles.
And in that moment, she had one.

Hyejeong finished her club activities.
It was already late at night but she waited for a little while at school since she didn't feel like going home yet,
She spotted Myungsoo with some friends she was familiar with.
She ended up conversing with them.
She was happy at that moment even if in between she had to talk about the girl he liked.
In one random moment, Myungsoo asked for her number.
She handed him her cellphone where he typed it in.
A small smile crept her face.
She thought it was the opportunity for her to get to know him.
Yeah, it was about time.
She thanked the heavens as she smiled and jumped in excitement.
When he replied to her greeting, she felt like she was flying.
She wanted it to last forever but his time was only limited so she restrained herself from replying and her small time of bliss ended.

There was a long interval of time before they talked again.
Sure, they both had mutual friends but Hyejeong never had the courage to approach him.
She wasn't that desperate though but still, sometimes it made her think that maybe......
She was a coward.

The next time they talked, Hyejeong always brought up the person he liked.
It was the only thing that could make him smile.
They talked and talked and talked.
It was her favorite subject but she couldn't care any less because it was the only time she could talk to him.
It was the only time he would look at her.
She knew she was hopeless but she didn't care.
Her feelings were as simple as that.

Myungsoo and Hyejeong became seat mates later afterwards.
It was fine time that she had more chances to talk to him and she did.
Out of the blue she blurted out, "Get rejected already."
She didn't mean it out of spite and you probably knew.
"Why do you want me to get rejected so badly?"
She ignored his question and asked him one again.
"If I tried, do you think you'll ever like me back?"
She was never this bold with anyone.
With great patience she strived and the rest was just thin paper and black ink.
