Whenever I think about CNY, the saying 'Gong Hei Fat Choi' always comes to mind.  It means 'I wish you happiness and wealth!'  Which is followed by "Hung Paw Dow Loy!"  The latter means 'Please hand over the Red Packet Full of Money'.  However, when spoken in the North American 'Chinglish', it comes across sounding more like 'Please hand over the Red Packet of Red Beans.'  Thus, the birth of this story!  Red Beans Packet ... a story about family, love, and of course, food :))  It's not Chinese New Year without the 'food'.
