Description

He already has three dogs back at his parent's house, there's no need to add another one. And although pets are allowed in his apartment building, he doesn't know if he can take care of him when he has college and dance classes to attend to.

That's what Jongin tells himself everyday, but everytime he looks into the little dog's eyes, he knows he's a lost cause.

Foreword

A/N: Hey there! This is sort of the continuation of my drabble "I Want to Hold You Close", but it's not necessary to read that first. I wasn't satisfied with the drabble so I wrote a supposed extra scene, but then it wasn't enough. It was too short and now I have this. This is going probably going to be a lot longer than what I am used to writing since going to be a long oneshot.

I'm still working this out with my beta, Emma a.k.a. thecafewriter, so don't expect me to update this soon (I have midterms coming up along with loads of projects. Oh, the college life~~)

In the meantime, enjoy this little exerpt of the fic:

Jongin loves animals. He especially likes dogs in particular. Every time he sees or hears anything related to them, his happy meter goes way up and everybody has to step away a little bit else they’ll be hit by his flailing limbs. Or go deaf by his loud voice or high-pitched squeal-laugh hybrid, whichever comes first.

So when his friend Kyungsoo tells him that he’ll be working part-time at a pet store starting tomorrow, he all but glomps the elder in front of the whole student body in unrestrained joy. Then he receives a punch in the gut and falls to the ground and ow, ow, ow, was that really necessary hyung your punches effin’ hurt like a B, like OW. The rest of their friends laugh at him while Kyungsoo glares and tells Jongin to just shut up and eat your lunch or you’ll be late for class again.

Jongin pouts as he reclaims his seat beside Kyungsoo and eats the rest of his food. But the pout doesn’t stay long when Kyungsoo whispers that he can come with him to work after school ends for the day. He grins throughout lunch. He’s so looking forward to it.

(And then Sehun remarks that he looks like a mad serial killer. Jongin just grins wider when the piece of kimchi he flicks towards him lands on his ugly face.)
