When training ended, Juyeon once again tried to return the pen to Baekhyun.
"Here, it's yours," Juyeon said.
Baekhyun ignored the expensive pen. "Do you want to come to therapy with us? It'll be fun! Professor Fear is a lot nicer than Pain!"
"Uh, I really don't think so." Juyeon edged away before Baekhyun could grab her again. "Just take it, please!"
Baekhyun glanced at the pen, disinterested. "Nah, you can keep it."
"Are you kidding me?" Juyeon looked down at the expensive black-and-gold pen. "I can't take it. Come on!"
Baekhyun placed his fingers lightly on the pen, but in one smooth move pushed Juyeon's hand towards her chest.
"It's yours now," he said with a grin, before walking away and leaving Juyeon standing there, in a flustered daze.
"NORMAL!" Pain bellowed. "GET OUT OF HERE!"
Juyeon jumped like she got electrocuted and ran out of the gymnasium. When outside, she slowed to a walk and wondered if she could find the library if she walked long enough.
Juyeon walked down the bare, dirty halls, observing the scorch marks and stains. One burn mark looked suspiciously human-shaped. Juyeon sure hoped Chanyeol wasn't the one who put it there. This place was demented.
As Juyeon walked down a hallway, she heard the clatter of footsteps behind her. She turned to see a small group of girls, arms crossed and glaring at her. Their pins gleamed menacingly on their jackets.
"We don't like you," one of them announced.
"Great," Juyeon responded warily, eyeing them with apprehension. She was pretty sure they weren't part of the welcoming committee. Could she outrun them?
"You think you're safe and sound, hanging out with the Exo, do you?" Another sneered.
"Who?" Juyeon asked blankly. She was not prepared to deal with this .
Another rolled her eyes, disgust laced in her voice. "Ugh, can you believe her? She gets all buddy-buddy with them and she doesn't even know what they are."
"So typical of a normal," one sneered.
Juyeon had a bad feeling about this. "Wait. Are you insulting me for being a normal or for hanging out with Baekhyun and the others?"
"Don't talk about Baekhyun like you know him!" one snapped.
"And stay away from Kai," another said in a growl. "Don't get a big head just because he flirts with you a little! You're not even that pretty!"
Juyeon groaned and buried her face in her hands. She didn't know whether to burst out laughing or cry. "Oh my god, I've finally met the groupies. God, I thought I wouldn't have to deal with this."
"Shut up, you!" The girl that seemed to be the leader snapped. "The Exo can't be bothered with you. You should just die here!"
"Oh my god, can we NOT do this?" Juyeon complained. "Come on, you're better than this. What are we, a high school romance soap opera? Have some decency."
A few girls seemed confused at her reaction and a bit embarrassed, while the rest just looked even madder.
The leader stomped up and grabbed Juyeon's jacket collar. "You're going to regret coming here, normal!"
Juyeon flinched, but at that moment something appeared out of nowhere. The groupie yelled and jerked away, letting go of Juyeon's collar. Juyeon turned and saw the wall behind her had a new decoration: a small dagger like a kunai knife, embedded into the wall and vibrating from the force of the throw.
"Sumi?" The groupie leader seethed. "What are you doing, protecting the normal?"
Sumi stepped out from behind a corner. Her eyes were cold. "That's none of your business. Step away from the normal and don't try cornering her again. I've got your number, Shim Minah, I'll know if you act against Donovan's orders."
The groupie leader, Shim Minah, gritted her teeth. "Come on," she muttered, and the girls followed her away.
Sumi sighed and walk
