Paradise comes with a price

Pair: Yadong

Prompt: Jealousy

For: lovemyotterprince77

What if we’re all just some experiments? What if somebody besides God created us with the only purpose of destroying the world? What if everything we feel-love, hate, passion, lust, jealousy- is just a way of showing how vulnerable we are? What if the world ended? We would still exist? Above all, we would still love?

Hoya breathes irregularly, scanning the surroundings with his cold stare. Ever since he’s been trapped in here, he can feel himself changing, and yet he can’t do anything to stop it. Everyday, he loses a part of himself, and yet he can’t tell what changes him-or who. He climbs down some rusty iron stairs, murky water dripping everywhere, soaking him and making him shiver, and hides under a crashed police car. He does up the laces to his combat boots and looks up, trying to find a way out. He feels his chest for the gun-thank god, they haven’t found it- and pats his ankle to feel the knife he’s always carrying with him. He feels a little safer, knowing he’s armed, and starts walking towards the basement. He reckons he will find an exit there, or at least a place to hide until everyting will settle down. His boots don’t make any noise on the cold floor and Hoya is keeping an eye out for any sign of danger and...escape. He has to, he needs to escape. There! A faint glimmer of light, but more than enough to boost Hoya’s energy and confidence. He picks up his pace, sure now that freedom is closer than ever.

But reality plays out a little differently than what we would want. Instead, a knock to his head makes him faint right before he could sense the wind on his skin.

He woke up to a stingy smell and a strange image in front of his eyes. He was tied to a strange machinery, a mask over his mouth and a cyborg in front of him, who was typing furiously on a computer. The machine Hoya was tied on started moving and the mask began to choke him. He looked down and saw the cyborg injecting a blue liquid into his veins. He started struggling and screaming, tears spilling from his eyes, but he soon got tired and accepted the fact that he was being changed into who knows what creature. After a few minutes, the machine stopped moving and the mask disappeared, but Hoya could only see that some words had carved their way onto his skin. They didin’t make any sense, the first time he looked at them, but then, the meaning revealed itself. Written on him, was a question, a warning-Do you really think you can still love?

Hoya was walking down the empty street, his breath coming out in chilly huffs. He stuffed his hands deeper into his pockets and picked up his pace, keeping his head low. He arrived at a warehouse where he and Dongwoo found refuge from the cyborgs. The place was cold, ugly and dead; but the look in Hoya’s eyes was even more fearful. He climbed the stairs and pushed open a massive iron door. Dongwoo was sleeping peacefully (as peacefully as he could with the attacks and raids and all) on an improvised bed. Hoya’s eyes showed just for a second compassion and something that resembled love, but he quickly shook his head and walked towards the bed Dongwoo was sleeping in. He yanked the thin blanket from his boyfriend’s grip and shook him hard. Soon enough, Dongwoo was bolting up from his grimy nest of blankets, eyes frantic and heartbroken at the sight in front of him. It was still dark outside, but it wouldn’t have made much of a difference anyway, not when the darkness meant fear, monsters, blood and death. He opened his mouth to ask what happened, but Hoya shut it with his lips. His kiss was rough, nothing like he was used to from Hoya, teeth clashing and biting, and Dongwoo whimpered, trying to get away from that sinfully hot mouth of his boyfriend.

“I bet I kiss better than that er, am I right?” Hoya growled, pinning Dongwoo’s hands above his head.

“What...who are you talking about?”

“That guy who’s apparently a better boyfriend than I am, don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about, you little . How is he in bed? Better than me?? That’s why you decided to just throw me away?!”

“Hoya, what’s wrong with you? Have you been drinking?! Get off me!”

Hoya took a deep breath, as if he was trying to stop himself from killing Dongwoo right then and there. He got off him and looked him in the eyes, with an immense sadness. Dongwoo folded his legs under him and put a hand over Hoya’s, drawing an invisible circle on his palm. He felt Hoya’s muscles and tendons tense, and he was gritting his teeth and breathing like a wounded animal. His palm was burning to feel Dongwoo’s skin, to touch him everywhere just the way he liked to be touched, his lips were screaming for Dongwoo’s, his whole being was aching to be one with his boyfriend, but is was like an unknown force was keeping him from doing all that, was keeping him from loving Dongwoo. He extended his arm with the intention to hug Dongwoo, to hold him close, to apologize for everything, but something held him back. He hastly got up and started pacing the dimly lit room, muttering some words under his breath, which looked a lot like “you cheated on me”, “I was trusting you”, “monster”. Dongwoo was watching him with a mix of curiosity and fear, wondering where did the man he loved go. He got up and approached Hoya, gently sneaking his arms around the younger man’s waist, back hugging him, putting his head on his back, feeling his heartbeats, but a strong punch pushed him back. He couldn’t even say a word because Hoya pushed him against the wall and started punching him, not hard enough to injure him, but strong enough to hurt his feelings. Hoya was yelling some incoherent words, “Am I not enough?” “my love wasn’t strong enough for you?” “why did you do this to me” and his punches became tears and he kneeled in front of Dongwoo, telling him to forgive him, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me” “I love you so ing much, baby”. Then, as Dongwoo was trying to hug him and tell him that everything’s okay and that he still loves him, Hoya staggered back to his feet and started throwing things around and breaking the only photo they had saved from the monsters, and that was when Dongwoo really got mad, because “that was our only memory” and “what the hell is wrong with you”, and Hoya barked back “You’ll have plenty of time to make memories with that er” and Dongwoo started crying for good now, because he really didin’t know what was wrong with Hoya and who was he talking about.

“Fine then. Call me when you’ll be able to explain to me what is wrong with you and who are you talking about, because I’m out of here.” Dongwoo said with tears streaming down his face and his heart aching.

Hoya stared for a while at the door, then he sat on the floor and cried himself to sleep, torn between the idea that Dongwoo was cheating on him and all the feelings he felt for the other.

Then, in the morning, as he woke up with a headache, he remembered. They made him hate Dongwoo. They made him believe that he was cheating on him, that his feelings for him were nothing but lies.

He threw a black leather jacket over the thin gray shirt he was wearing and stormed out of the warehouse, afraid that maybe they got Dongwoo too, and what if they changed him, and what if he doesn’t love me anymore. He was running aimlessly on the dark streets of Seoul, thinking about all the possible places his boyfriend might go to, and then he remembered their special place, a park near the warehouse, where they first confessed to each other. He turned in his tracks and started running faster, his heart running as well, too afraid to even think about what he would do without Dongwoo. His eyes were searching for him, searching for any sign of the man he loved, becoming blurred from tears from time to time, and Hoya promised himself that he will be strong, he will not cry, he will find Dongwoo and confess to him again, just like he did on a winter morning, when the snow and the cold were the only witnesses.

And there he was, sitting on a bench, with his legs brought to his chest and his fists clenched, his shoulders bouncing up and down, and Hoya figured he was crying. “Because of me”, he thought. He rushed to him and took him in his arms, ignoring the punches and the cries and the screams, wiping away his tears and whispering sweet nothings into his ears, “I am so sorry, Dongwoo-ah” “Will you ever forgive me?” “I love you with all my heart” and Dongwoo started sobbing even harder, gripping Hoya’s jacket like his life was depending on it. Hoya kissed his head and hugged him even tighter, playing with his boyfriend’s long, pink hair (he was the one who convinced Dongwoo to dye his hair pink) and telling him he would never, ever, not in a million years, believe that he could cheat on him, because “our love is infinite”, and Dongwoo didin’t say a word, just kissed him hard, putting all his feelings into that one kiss, tracing Hoya’s lower lip with his tongue, gently biting him, marking him. They both smiled into the kiss and they both whispered at the same time “I love you”. And almost at the same time, a car exploded somewhere near the park, making them shiver and think that they should love each other as long and as hard as they can, because the world ain’t going to last forever, and they won’t be able to hide forever from those monsters. And still, nothing will be able to break the love Hoya and Dongwoo are feeling towards each other, not even those cybergs, not even the darkness, the death or fear, because, if they have each other, they are timeless, they are one and they are forever.

“Dongwoo-ah?”

“Yes, Hobaby”

“I think you are cheating on me.”

“Oh, not again.”

“With my heart, because it falls in love each day with a different you.”

Chapter 1: Wonderful portray of the prompt. ^^ really like the way Hoya describe the monster, because I really do think that everyone has a monster following them, even if its just in our imagination.
