Summer Of Love Ch.1

Description

Foreword

It starts off at the park behind the recreational center. The bright summer sun still shining at 7pm as it was at 3; the whole crew lounging around in their damp clothes, the sprinklers still spraying lightly; the smell of fresh cut grass and an endless surge of heat surrounding you all.
AJ takes your hand, gripping tightly to avoid if from slipping out due to sweat. You keep your head down, trailing behind him almost mindlessly. Your stomach is doing somersaults just from his skin in contact with yours and you can feel your face flood with even more heat as he pulls you into the shade under a huge tree far from all your friends. His dark eyes are rimmed in glitter and shining like diamonds in the blazing sun. You become hypnotized once again and allow yourself to drown in them. His hands find your hips and send electric shock waves up and down your whole body, causing all your movements to freeze. A crooked smile plays on his lips and me mouths your name before pulling you closer into him. You can’t breathe. This is what he does to you. You’ve been under some kind of spell since he moved into your neighborhood, unable to think, dream or care about anyone but him. You have no control and not that you’d stop him even if you did. This is the closest you’ve been to him all summer. This is what you’ve been dreaming and daydreaming about for months and it’s finally happening. His tongue peaks out and his full cherry lips before he slowly begins leaning in closer to you. You inhale sharply, scrambling to mentally prepare yourself for what he’s about to do. The kiss is so soft, so gentle. His smooth lips feel like flower petals caressing your mouth, circling until you open up for air, but are met with his tongue. It tastes much different from any other kiss you’ve ever experienced. This feels, you think, like eating candy or drinking something really sweet. It’s like having your first kiss all over again.
As much as you both need air, neither of you will let go of the kiss. Your hands reach up and one grips his neck while the other entangles your fingers in his hair. He turns you slowly and gently pushes your back up against the tree. It’s not until then you both pull back, panting and gasping for air like you were being held underwater. Neither of you speak; the event being too much for either of you to comment on. Your flushed face and speechlessness is met with his charming boyish grin that makes your heart flutter. He pulls something out of his pocket that makes your heart feel as if it’s going to explode with pure joy. It’s a silver chain with a tiny silver heart charm shinning in the sun as he dangles it in front of you before slipping it over your head. It feels so heavy. A simple gift laden with so much meaning, it feels as though you’re wearing a bike chain around your neck. Still, the gesture makes your unexplainable happy and he can tell. His ear to ear smile says it all. He takes your hand once more, which oddly enough feels more comfortable this time, and leads you back over to the group who can’t seem to stop smiling. It seems they all know something you don’t, but it doesn’t take long for you to figure it out.
You’re his now.
That night, of course, you can’t sleep but thankfully, you’re not alone. It isn’t long after you force yourself into bed that there’s a tick, tick! At your window. You smile to yourself, knowing exactly what it is. AJ is there, standing in your backyard this his bike and his breath-taking smile. It’s all he needs. You thought this kind of thing only happens in movies. Movies where two people fall in love for one summer and have a beautiful fling, but crash and burn at the turn of the season. You push those thoughts out of your mind and slip a hoodie over your head as you tiptoe downstairs and out the back door.
“Hi.” He says shyly, keeping his eyes on his feet.
“Hi.” You reply, feeling just as awkward as he. He seems so different now. So different from the boy who stole you away from your friends to kiss you like…like that. He looks up at you finally and you fall into those chocolate eyes almost instantly.
“Come on,” he says, taking your hand once more. “I wanna show you something.” You
