The sunset was silently watching over your shoulder. You slowly walked home together with Zelo, tightly holding his hand. You had only been girlfriend and boyfriend since yesterday, but it felt so long already. It was comfortable just walking there and sincerely holding someone’s hand - especially in the spring. He was a year older than you and wasn’t in the same class as you, which somehow made you feel uncomfortable around other boys without him. You had always been bullied by your classmates and seniors, but since Zelo confessed to you; everyone seemed to like you better - probably only because of him. Your parents didn’t know about your relationship - mom would never know, dad shouldn’t even know. You only let Zelo walk you to the neighborhood, where you then walked home by yourself. He wore his black-blue uniform - you wore your long skirted-sailor uniform. You were tall considered an Asian girl, but that didn’t bother Zelo at all - he was kind of tall too, compared to the other students. He was a member of the school band - also known as one of the most handsome guys at school. Zelo was somehow different at home; he wasn’t as rich as he seemed and because of that, he had a part-time job. His parents were sick, which meant he had to take care of their bakery all the time. He hadn’t told anything about it to you though - it would just make you worry too much. As you unhurriedly walked home, the sun disappeared in no time. You bid farewell with him, shyly hugged him and walked the opposite way of where he was going. You were one way or another different when he wasn’t there for you - or when no one you knew were there. Only street lights made you able to see your destination. Fireflies tiredly flew around in the neighborhood, as you were closer and closer to your house. You stood in front of the worn out door - it wasn’t even closed. Looking at your house, it was just an old, small, pile of junk. Nothing special about it - nothing new. You barely wanted to go home.
