One second, Then Suddenly Changed
Description
I posted this a while ago under a different account. I had to delete it since I didn't like how it turned out but anyways, this story is based on one of my all time favorite books. I changed the title and the plot a little bit. I hope ya'll enjoy
Foreword
When her drug-alcoholic mother took off without a trace, Dara is sent to live with her older sister, Byul. Now Dara's got her own room in a fabulous new house, she's going to private school, and-for the first time-feeling as if she has a future. She'll meet new people and discover new things. Plus, there's the adorable and sweet boy next door, Jae. Oh boy, this should be fun.
I wanted to say that I had a sister when the deputy asked if I had any family or relatives but I haven't even came in contact with her for over a decade, even if I did, I wouldn't know where she lived, what she did, or even who she was. Hell, if they did contact her, I doubt she'll even remember me. I chose to keep my silence, not knowing what to answer. I wonder if she even bothered to look for me, just like she promised, well I guess this answered that.
The deputy sighed and went behind his computer, after a series of clicking and typing, he dialed a phone number. I was sitting there quietly thinking about the outcome of this day, how I'm practically an orphan and will most likely end up in an orphanage, when the mention of my sister's name interrupted my daydreaming.
She showed up to claim me 30 minutes later. I didn't know how to react when I saw her. Should I have been glad she came? Should I have been mad that she didn't keep her promise? I didn't expect her to come and hug me senseless, and she didn't. She had a blank face and went straight to the deputy's desk. They shook hands and he informed her what my current was. After she filled out the paperwork, she turned towards me and motioned for me to get up. With her face void of any emotion, she said, "Get up, from now on, you're living with us."
