“Here in SM Academy, we prioritize in ensuring your child’s place in society,” was what an old man with glasses had said in the opening ceremony, well, at least, that was what her parents knew. Luna never wanted to transfer schools. She wanted to stay in the US. She knew it. She just knew that she would stick out like a sore thumb.

“Hi,” since she was busy talking to herself, Luna hadn’t noticed that someone stood in front of her and was waving his hands, trying to get her attention. Finally, after what seemed like ages, Luna snapped her head up and accidentally hit the man in front of him.

“Omo, I’m so sorry,” Luna said, offering her hand to the poor man. He looked up and smiled widely at her. Luna became confused.

“You must be Park Sunyoung. I’m Lee Jinki, well, Onew. I’m your sunbae-partner for this school year,” Onew said as he dusted himself.

Onew tilted his head. “Oh, you didn’t know. I’m sorry. Well then, as a good sunbae, let me explain it for you. In this school, SMA, first year students are partnered up with third or fourth students. This way, this sunbae of that student can act as a tutor, a guide, and such. Unfortunately, we have class too, so, we’ll only meet up during breaks and at night,”

Luna nodded. “Um, I guess, it’s nice to meet you, Onew-ssi,”

“Same here,”

Luna and Onew were now walking around the academy. Luna marveled at the beautiful marble floors, the chandeliers, the portraits of famous paintings, the white walls, and the velvet curtains, it was beautiful. She gaped at the huge oak door that stood in front of her.

“This is the cafeteria. This will be the venue for all events, from ceremonies to dances and such,” Onew explained. Luna nodded, digesting everything he said. They were still looking at the door when the school bell chimed. “Oh, it’s time to go to the dorms. Come on Luna-ssi,”

Onew brought Luna to the dorms. After talking to the dorm lady, they were now standing in front of room 201. “This here is your room, Luna-ssi. I’m in room 154, that’s on the third floor. I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night,” Onew smiled.

Luna nodded. “Good night,” she said as she entered her room.

Onew was waited a couple more minutes before leaving.
